I was watching "Shut Up & Sing" about the insane backlash the Dixie Chicks had to face after speaking out against Bush & the Iraq War.

I changed the channels, and there was Trump, speaking to a southern audience, claiming that he opposed the Iraq war from day 1 - and getting wild applause & cheers.

Politicians of all people used to say partisanship ended once you crossed American shores. I understand the idea of Americans (the Dixie Chicks) criticizing the U.S. during the war in front of a lot of foreigners not going over well here at home.

Not my thing. A bad war is a bad war. When you have that conviction, I see it as a patriotic duty to voice it - not keep it down. Dissent can end wars & save lives.

It's intended to serve as a counterpoint to Hillary having *actually voted* for the war. The real irony in this thread is that vote was the most politically significant act in Hillary's two terms in the Senate.
