I always thought that statistic was kind of silly anyway. Sure, if you live in a Lilly white gated community or if you have armed guards, statistically, you're safer in not having a gun.

But if you live outside of town when the nearest cop is 20 minutes away or if you live in a densely populated high crime precinct, then the statistic doesn't mean as much to you.
