I find it just totally obscene that Hillary Clinton has raised nearly half a billion dollars, think how much good that could do. Instead it will go to TV, radio and Press ads, and no doubt a fair bit will go to bribe persuade certain people to endorse her. Trump at least has funded much of his campaign himself, what people don't seem to understand is that he's played the media at their own game and ended up with free publicity every day.

One of the latest opinion polls has given Mr Trump a five point lead over his Democratic rival.

Mrs Clinton had been topping most polls, but support has wavered after her recent medical woes. On Sunday, the 68-year-old collapsed at a 9/11 memorial event in New York after she was diagnosed with pneumonia. Since then she has been forced to deny a string of wild theories, including claims that she has hired a body double and false reports of her demise. The uncertainty has given Mr Trump a boost among voters, with USC Dornsife/LA Times putting him at 47.2 per cent support to his rival’s 41.3 per cent.

Mr Trump has claimed that he is self-funding his presidential bid so that he “doesn’t owe anything to lobbyists and special interests groups”. His campaign has raised $128million (£96million) so far, with just under half ($52million) coming out of Mr Trump’s own pocket, claims the US think tank Centre for Responsive Politics (CRP). The billionaire largely paid for his primary campaign but he has since accepted $75million (£57million) in donations, according to the CRP’s Open Secrets website.

So far he has spent $87million (£66million) and is forecast to have the lowest total spending of any presidential front-runner in the past 12 years. Hillary Clinton has so far raised $435million (£328million). Mr Trump has been able to run such a frugal operation thanks to the unprecedented media attention his unconventional campaign has attracted.This free coverage in the press means that he does not have to pay for expensive TV advertising.

this is why Trump is a literal existential threat to media. When one guy says that they need a billion mostly in ads to win and the other one says you dont need a tenth that you go after the one who keeps the ad money flowing.

If Trump wins this one future candidates will have to spend much much less to win an election and that can only be a good thing.

You have to wonder if those who have conned people out if so much money will not be feeling the heat pretty hard. And those who hocked it up have much to be unhappy about.
 
The best use of Hillary Clinton's half a billion dollars is ensuring Nazi's don't get elected to the presidency. Our nation is playing Russian roulette this election. If Trump wins, America ends. It's worth a lot more than half a billion dollars, if you ask me. This is the most important thing of my lifetime, ensuring a racist fascist doesn't seize control of my country and occupy it. The press should be ashamed of themselves for giving so much coverage to the end of our country. In the future, press regulations should be put in place that forbid coverage of candidates with racist, fascist, or otherwise unamerican views.

I have been sent a secret email saying that on the first month of trumps presidency we will having a general auction to sell blacks back to slavery, eliminating the need for mexicans which we can all deport, and then also using jews to build the wall while the blacks build their cremation furnace thing right next to it. :)

Well I could have said the same thing about you with the EU referendum!! If the election of a president had no bearing on the UK, you might have a point. I don't remember you saying that Obama was an arsehole for telling us that we would have to go to the back of the queue for trade deals.
