After earning about $15 an hour in her current position (she’s been with the company for over two decades), she notes that taking a job on the sales floor again just doesn’t hold the same appeal.

Perhaps these folks are the lucky ones getting out before the job market is flooded w/ X-walmart employees.......

they most likely mean the floor where sales happen. I.e. customer facing jobs in the store itself.

I have been there once in 7 years & prob 3 times in 15 years so admittedly I am no expert on it but I don't recall seeing employees around anywhere except the front of the store.. In the evening I recall seeing some women & men in knee pads stocking & they pretended not to know anything or speak little English so as to not be bothered..

Cost of living must be real cheap there if $15 an hour after 20+ years is a decent white collar job...
