To be clear, Kaepernick's parentage does not erase his experience as a biracial American — and Kaepernick himself has addressed the issue of his adopted family and racial identity before.
"We used to go on these summer driving vacations and stay at motels," the quarterback told US Weekly in October. "And every year, in the lobby of every motel, the same thing always happened, and it only got worse as I got older and taller. It didn't matter how close I stood to my family, somebody would walk up to me, a real nervous manager, and say: 'Excuse me. Is there something I can help you with?'"

I've actually been to many events where black people didn't stand or even acknowledge the flag.
"Dats racists" flag, they say.
This is actually kind of instructional, though I'm sure you won't accept it lol. But other readers might. Let's flip it over and reverse the races. Let's say a black family adopted a white kid. The white kid grows up, gets taller and etc. And every time he walked into every motel, no matter how close he stood to his black family, some nervous manager would approach him and say 'can I help you sir?'. Both kids would look out of place in both instances. Given the circumstances, it's not neccessarily racist for a manager to ask such a question in either instance. In fact, you have to *assume* a racist intent on the part of the manager. It begs the question of how much racism is perceived vs real. If you're inclined to think white people are inherently racist [ironically, a racist notion itself] you will be quick to assume the worst.
Social Justice Warrior is a pejorative, not a complement. These are people that cover themselves in fake blood to protest a conservative coming to speak at a college campus. They think they are warriors for a great cause. When in reality they are morons, hated by both the left and right.
It's basic stuff anyone from Baltimore knows. or googleThanks for regurgitating your Google search, Professor Obvious. Key was a stinking racist. You keep "forgetting" to mention that.

( I think in a poem form) on the back of an envelope (?) It's completely stupid to bring in an 'racism' to the Battle of Baltimore, or the Star Spangled Banner -yet you persist.
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is refusing to stand for the national anthem before games because he believes the United States oppresses African Americans and other minorities.
Kaepernick sat on the team’s bench Friday night during the anthem before the Niners played host to the Green Bay Packers in an exhibition game. He later explained his reasoning in an interview with NFL Media .
”I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick said. ”To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

Why would a manager make any kind of assumption about a family who are just checking into a hotel? And single out a little kid who was clearly part of the family group, just because he didn't share their skin color?
There are plenty of mixed race, mixed ethnicity families in America today and these managers overstepped their bounds.
I think Colin might be guilty of embellishing things a tad lol. He said 'every' time. I find it a little hard to believe there are that many hands-on motel managers out there. Certainly hasn't been my experience.

But in either instance a motel manager would be excused [without invoking racism] for thinking there's two separate parties waiting for their room keys if they were all at the counter at the same time.
Why can't it be he was just trying to be polite to someone he mistook to be another customer? Why does it have to be racism. All the time.
No hotel I know of rents rooms to little kids without an adult. It's virtually impossible if the person is under 18.
Think Darthy was lying?
I would say "single-mindedly committed to downplaying Kap's comments about his experiences as a mixed-race child in a white family."![]()
This is just what we keep seeing: they're ALL just making it up. They're exaggerating. There is no problem. For some reason, an entire ethnic group of millions is having a mass delusion.
And trust me on this, because I'm a white guy surrounded by white guys. I know there is no problem.
