An Oklahoma City man was charged Wednesday with a felony after he allegedly sent a threatening letter to a mosque containing a white powder meant to be mistaken for anthrax.

Justin William Bouma, 32, was charged in Oklahoma County District Court with the rarely filed felony count known as the crime of terrorist hoax. Bouma also was charged with one misdemeanor count of malicious injury and destruction of property.

_______________

I remember reading about some supposed anthrax being sent to a mosque and I wondered why nothing much ever came of it, because it fit the Islamophobia false narrative so well.

Now I know why. It turned out to be hoax so the media dutifully dropped it like a hot potato.

The incident is also telling in at least one sense: if Muslims suffered persecution in this country it wouldn't be necessary to manufacture false incidents of it.

You & other [self loathing Muslims] should still be concerned...

While it did not contain a deadly substance, it could have, & those exposed would have suffered/died..

The point of a terrorist act isn't necessarily to kill ppl, but rather to scare ppl.... I think this would seem to do that, do you??

He was charged with 'hoax terrorism'. Apparently, the guy wanted people to think his home mosque was being threatened by Islamophobes.
