something about contributory negligence rings a bell......how did the gun get in her hand if her instructor didn't give it to her?......
 
The instructor is totally at fault. He set the gun to auto fire. Very irresponsible decision. Would be like letting a 9 year old drive a car on the freeway because you first let them drive in the driveway. The kid fired the gun only a few times before he switched it to auto. How was she supposed to know how much kick the gun would have during repeated firing? Why the hell is the guy leaning in over the kid?

I believe that this young person should not have been at a shooting range. She should have been allowed to be a child without the sins of the parents. Just let kids be kids. Don't indoctrinate them to be your surrogate.

What the fuck is a nine year old doing on a shooting range especially with automatic weapons. I wouldn't be surprised if this incident blights her adult life.
