When do workers not ask for better wages?
When a company anticipates their needs by giving cost of living raises. I know many people who are happy with their wages and employees.

What kind of work are they doing? If you are in a position to be easily replaced you probably aren't getting paid as high a wage as you would like.
The work varies, one place is a locally owned burger joint, a local distributor of heavy equipment, a granite installation company, a family owned plumbing business, an electrical supply company, a pizza parlor, an IT company all local businesses. Those are the businesses I know of whose employees love their work, and their pay.
The US looks at workers as 'costs units'. I can't tell you how many sales jobs I've had where it was "take it or leave it"
Or when I took over as a new salesman that same type company wouldn't even have lead generation.
The prior salesperson drained them and left.
If you want to keep good workers, they need to get paid, or they continually jump ship -which doesn't help the workers or the companies.

Back in 08 I remember listening to the usual Rightie talking heads as they would spend their afternoons lamenting the coming horror if Barack Obama was elected as President.
I've been hearing the same ignorant moaning, wailing and gnashing of teeth for the past few months.
The only difference is now it's going to happen if Hillary is elected.
All true & last week he was going to put an end to all that~this week not so much..
