Calling into Anderson Cooper 360 Wednesday night, Hillary Clinton brushed off the lack of press conferences and reports that she was intentionally keeping a low profile in order to keep the media focus on Trump.
When Cooper asked if she was going to hold a press conference (it has been over 250 days since her last one), Clinton responded, “Well Anderson, I’m talking to you now, and I’ve given way in excess of 300 interviews this year.”
Asked point blank why she wouldn’t just hold a press conference, Clinton said, “I’ve got a lot that I’ve been sharing with the press, talking to the press, as I’m doing with you right now. So, you know, stay turned. There will be a lot of opportunities for me to talk to the press as well as continuing to talk to the American public.”
Cooper closed by mentioning that there were other reporters who would certainly welcome the opportunity to ask her questions at a press conference. “I’m throwing that out there,” he said.
