Well, Muslims can't marry Jews under strict sharia, which would seem to call into question Abedins sympathies for it [sharia].
But, radical Islamists are permitted to cheat [including lying, pretending to forsake Islam etc], provided, it's done in the service of jihad. You might recall some of the 9/11 terrorists frequented strip clubs. Undoubtedly because they liked to lol, but also because it would provide some cover from gullible infidels who would be apt to conclude that orthodox Muslims would never be found drinking, habiting strip clubs or etc.
