What a great thread!

How much does the Obama administration owe?

:rofl2:

They do it, too!

So, let me get this straight. You're criticizing the thread, which means you don't think it's worth discussing. When Trump has made almost his entire campaign about what a "success" he is in business...you think the OP is irrelevant?

What. A. Hack.

That you think his debt (mostly real estate and also far less than his net worth) makes him not a success, is all I really need to know about your thoughts on this topic. Please recuse yourself from any further discussion about this.

How do you know what his net worth is?

Trump's big domination over the business world has really come to light in this election. Declaring bankruptcy so he can get out of paying contractors. Putting family businesses that existed for decades out of business. Using dishonesty & exaggeration as "strategies." Taking the life savings of the poor with false promises of "real estate success."

You probably think Madoff was great, too.

You're really getting ahead of yourself again. Trump is without a doubt a dishonest person and I harbor no doubt he is dishonest in his business dealings and no doubt he has ripped people off.

Maybe you don't know much about business, but I do. Not an expert by any means, just successful at what I do. Business bankruptcies are the norm. It does not always define one as successful or not successful. Remember the auto bailout? And other business bankruptcies? Many have succeeded and saved their companies, so whining about bankruptcies now only makes you look hypocritical, unless, you are against all bankruptcies.

Yeah, Madoff was great, did you think that one up on your own? That is really amazing. Your intellect is astounding.

If you'll read my post again, you'll see that I didn't say the bankruptcies on their own are necessarily bad. Way to put words in my mouth. Dishonest like Trump.

It's the WAY he used his bankruptcies. I have no respect for him as a businessman. If you're some sort of business ace, you shouldn't either.

Now, I'm sure you'll distort what I just said, as you always do.

Do you support Obama's additional Trillions of dollars worth of debt? I'm trying to figure out which debt you think makes one unfit to be president.

No. I've talked a lot about debt on this board. Just yesterday I said it's a much bigger danger to us than ISIS.

But, this thread is about Trump's debt. Why don't you try addressing that, instead of making your first comment a sarcastic one & ridiculing the idea that Trump's debt is relevant to the campaign?

I have addressed his business debt. You need ro reread my posts.

If you own a home, you likely have a mortgage. I own a few homes and owe mortgages on the rentals. I still make money. Somehow I doubt you will understand.

The Republican presidential nominee has sold himself as a businessman who has made billions of dollars and is beholden to no one.

But an investigation into the financial maze of Trump’s real estate holdings in the United States reveals that companies he owns have at least $650 million in debt — twice the amount than can be gleaned from public filings he has made as part of his bid for the White House.

Trump’s fortunes depend deeply on a wide array of financial backers, including one he has cited in attacks during his campaign.

A substantial portion of his wealth is tied up in three passive partnerships that owe an additional $2 billion to a string of lenders, including those that hold the loan on the Avenue of the Americas building.

“I am the king of debt,” Trump once said. “I love debt.” But in his career, debt has sometimes gotten the better of him, leading to at least four business bankruptcies.

He is, however, quick to stress that these days his companies have very little debt.

Trump indicated in the financial disclosure form he filed in connection with this campaign that he was worth at least $1.5 billion, and has said publicly that the figure is actually greater than $10 billion.

Recent estimates by Forbes and Fortune magazines and Bloomberg have put his worth at less than $5 billion.

Jeebus. He's comparing an administration's debt with personal debt. Apples and oranges. Unbelievable.

uh Chrispy.....he has a worth, according to Bloomberg of something less than $5B and liabilities of $650M?.......and you guys think this is bad?......

Actually I think his net worth is lower and his liabilities are higher and that's why his new campaign manager suddenly decided he doesn't need to release his tax returns. The same person who criticized him for NOT releasing them just a few months ago.
