"What the hell do you have to lose?"

Washington (CNN) Donald Trump on Friday continued his outreach to African-American voters, presenting them with a stark question: "What the hell do you have to lose?"

Speaking in Dimondale, Michigan -- a predominantly white suburb of Lansing -- Trump lamented the collapse of American manufacturing and criticized free trade deals as he laced into Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party, saying they are taking black voters for granted.

"You're living in poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs,58% of your youth is unemployed -- what the hell do you have to lose?" Trump asked the audience in an unscripted moment from a speech in which he otherwise stuck to his teleprompter.

Clinton fired back Friday evening in a tweet, writing, "This is so ignorant it's staggering."

Trump later accused Clinton of wanting to give jobs to refugees rather than unemployed African-Americans in the US, saying they have "become refugees in their own country."

Trump -- speaking to an overwhelmingly white audience that featured only a smattering of African-Americans and other minorities -- also promised that were he to run for re-election at the end of his first term, he would win 95% of the black vote.

Such support would be a tall order for Trump -- a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll shows Clinton beating Trump 91%-1% among African-Americans.

He doesn't like half-Indians either.

Charlotte (CNN) A man who identified himself as half-Indian was escorted out of a Donald Trump rally on Thursday out of concern that he was a protester, but the man insisted he was a Trump supporter and said he feels that he was racially profiled.

Jake Anantha, an 18-year-old from Charlotte, was approached by a member of Trump's security team and then ushered out by police. He was told that he resembled another man who had previously disrupted Trump rallies.

"I told him I've never been to another rally in my life," Anantha said. "I'm a huge Trump supporter. I would never protest against Trump."

Anantha later tweeted that he would be voting for Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson in November.

Trump's the wrong messanager but he makes a great point. I'd argue its locally in big cities that blacks have the most to gain from not having straight democrats in charge as they have in numerous places for many decades.

If the GOP has so much to offer blacks, why hasn't it happened? Why do we have to listen to tripe that blacks only vote for Dems because they get "free stuff"?

How in the world could the Right be stupid enough to let this dupe into the presidential race? Fat ass just better be kissing some major Trump ass when he hands her the election.

A large reason is because Republicans have done a horrible job reaching out to and appealing to black voters.

Maybe I listen to too much far left talk radio but a lot of blacks support more socialist economic pokicies and see capitalism as racist which will not help Republicans. I still believe Republicans need to reach out to black voters more Jack Kemp style but from a macro election perspective i think more time spent on Hispanic and other minority voters would bring a higher return.

But on the subject of the black community in big cities I think they would benefit from not having a Democratic machine. We see the plight of cities with Dem control.

You have long time Republicans on this board fighting tooth and nail for the guy. Most Republicans running could have beaten Hillary yet we selected one who basically can't.

Well, he does have a point.....

the city of Milwaukee, ie, Mayors.....has been ruled by Democrats since 1909....108 years.....
Baltimore, over 50 years.....
Philadelphia, over 60 years.....
Detroit, over 50 years,
Chicago, over 80 years

and the same is true for other big US cities where the Afr. Amer. suffer joblessness, shitty schools, high crime and poverty....

If you keep voting the same way every election and expecting different results than you've been getting, you're a fool.....

what DO they have to lose?........will unemployment hit 68% instead of 58%?......

Let's see, highest black home ownership under bush, lowes under obama. Massive black unemployment under bo.
He's right, what do they have to lose ? Hrc will just continue to bleed America dry putting trillions in the pockets of fat cats.
They say it's insane to keep doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome.
And they seem to agree, his support up 6x to an unheard of 15%. I saw an analysis that said if he got 9% he wins.

The chart I posted shows the problem goes back to the 1930s.

Yes I am, because this is in reference to Trump and the presidential election.

Seeing that Trump is a big gov't economic liberal he of all Republicans would have a good story to tell black voters. Considering he used to get shout out from rappers he had an in as well. He just chose to go a different route and has no chance now.
