Trump: "I'm so hungry I could eat a horse."

Today's lesson in the use of rhetorical device has to do with the use of hyperbole to emphasize a point.

A) Trump really intends to eat a horse. The whole thing, barbecued over charcoal with Sweet Baby Rays.

B) No, it's just a manner of speaking. He's basically saying he's really hungry.

C) Whatever the media tells me to think.

So eating a horse & blood coming out of her wherever are the same??

I guess they are, both are pretty obvious what he meant.. & most of the public could easily comprehend it, & they did...

Conservatives outraged

If he would have said daggers coming out of her eyes, it really would have blown you little peanut mind.....

Well since he didn't say that or millions of other things, so WHAT??

He said what he said, & even conservatives were outraged..

You can fool yourself about it, you aint fooling anyone else..:palm:

The blood thing is a great example. It happened that I caught that one live. I didn't think the comment had anything to do with Kelly menstrating. I took the 'blood coming out of whatever..' as Trump running out of words. Like when a person gets exasperated and says 'whatever'.

But someone got the 'Trump was referring to Megyn Kelly menstrating' going and it became a media meme.

I may allow myself to fool myself but that's a right I reserve to myself lol. I never allow the media to fool me.

And they definitely cooked that one up.

& lots of others took it another way~the apprentice, the great communicator wants to play president, then he better not only act the part, but speak it, which he has yet to do & has no intention of doing..

If he can't stop stepping on his own little dick 2-3 times a week, maybe he just isn't as smart as he says?? Maybe he aint smart enough to rule the free world & fix everything so we can all live happily ever after under his dominion...

Yea, the poor apprentice complains that he is always misunderstood,

I think it's a mistake to underestimate his intelligence. Trump's problem is that he's stubborn: he refuses to play the part of a politician---even if it costs him an election. He's going to continue to be who he is and damn the torpedoes.

*rhetorical device alert* not to be taken literally: there are no torpedoes to damn.

Which is actually kind of admirable in its own way. How ironic, that people have clamored for a transparent politician for so long; and when one finally comes along, they don't like what they see, so they vote for the consummate establishment politician, that represents everything they supposedly hate about politicians---Hillary Rodham Clinton.

First you say he refuses to play the part of a politician, perhaps he still sees himself as the apprentice on tv??

Then you claim he is the transparent "politician" we have all clamored for??

Perhaps the saddest thing here is those horrible establishment politicians don't look so bad compared a tv actor lacking the sense to keep his mouth shut...
