Thailand set to approve new constitution; will farangs be treated like predators?

Voters in Thailand appear to have overwhelmingly approved a new constitution that would lay the foundation for a civilian government influenced by the military and controlled by appointed rather than elected officials.

Two major media groups showed the “yes” vote winning a clear mandate with about 75 percent of the votes counted after polls closed in Sunday’s referendum.

Thai PBS, an independent public broadcaster, said 62 percent of voters had approved the constitution and 38 percent had rejected it. Voice TV, which is aligned with opponents of the military government, put the figure at 61.65 percent for “yes” and 38.35 percent for “no.”

If the slimy are regarded as equal the attraction of the place will disappear.

I'm not so sure. Many Thais already regard slimy, predatory farangs as what they are.

The farang practice of buying Thai women could be jeopardized by the new constitution.

That's what I mean. If the ladyboys and bar girls aren't for sale, why would the slimy scum go there at all?
