In a new survey of American military personnel, Donald Trump emerged as active-duty service members' preference to become the next U.S. president, topping Hillary Clinton by more than a 2-to-1 margin. However, in the latest Military Times election survey, more than one in five troops said they’d rather not vote in November if they have to choose between just those two candidates.

But given only those choices, 21 percent of the service members surveyed said they would abstain from voting.More than 54 percent of the 951 troops Military Times surveyed said they would vote for Trump, the presumed Republican presidential nominee, over Clinton, the Democratic front-runner. Only about 25 percent said they would vote for Clinton in that matchup.

It's amusing watching liberals and the anti-Trumpeters trying to maximize Trump's blistering 'attack' on the Khans. If you judged this issue just on the hyperventilating without knowing the details you'd think Trump trashed the fallen soldier.

But, as they say, the devil is in the details.

Yeah, but they know what they're about. The low information types don't get anything but the headlines. "Trump trashes fallen Muslims soldiers family". Goes right along with "Trump thinks all Mexicans are rapists and murderers".

Trump's great sin was implying that Mrs. Khan may have been silent at the convention due to her interpretation of Islam. Which, is hardly implausible, to say the least. One might ask the Islamophiles why it would be such a bad thing if it were true---and it may be true.

It wasn't astounding that she was totally silent---but it was a little odd. And if she was silent out of tradition, it doesn't reflect one way or another on her sons sacrifice.

It would just mean Mrs. Khan is an orthodox Muslim. Again Islamophiles, why would that be a bad thing for Trump to imply?

Bottom line, an objective observer would look at this and wonder how it got blown up as big as it did. The obvious answer is the media stalks Trump for gaffes.

And like the deputies say, "anything you say can and will be used against you".
