Either Trump is an idiot, or just did a big no no.

Mr.Badguy

Super lefty
So Trump, having now started receiving intelligence briefings as Rep nominee against the wishes of members in the intelligence community, recently tweeted about a US base in Saudi Arabia. Thing is, we're not SUPPOSED to have a base there. So he either doesn't know what he's talking about, or he does, and he let a big secret slip. Thoughts?

Correction, Trump didn't tweet about it, he mentioned it in a speech.

:palm: Jeebus. The words "loose lips sink ships" could not be more appropriate.

Trump for Prison 2016

Vlad wanted it known, so a US secret got blown.

Treason.

Trump for prison.

Even RedState is appalled.

"Just to get this straight, Donald Trump receives intelligence briefings now. This is something that was going to happen as soon as he was the official nominee. It's standard operating procedure for both candidates to get briefings so that whoever wins the presidency doesn't go into the job completely unaware of what is going on in the country and the world. However, as this piece at the Wall Street Journal points out, the candidates aren't allowed to divulge the information they receive.

The post also goes on to say, though, that we don't exactly know what happens to a candidate who does reveal the classified intelligence they receive. However, if a U.S. base's location is not public knowledge, then it is really, really bad to reveal the location of the base. Especially when it is in one of the most hostile-to-America regions on the planet. It's just incredibly irresponsible. It's dangerous for the staff there. It's stupid.

But, no one has ever accused Donald Trump of being a genius (except Donald Trump, that is)."

Trump for Prison 2016

"Today was likely Donald Trump’s very first day of getting classified intelligence briefings as part of his role as the Republican nominee. He has been provided these briefings against the wishes of high ranking former intelligence agents, as well as many currently still working in the Pentagon. The concern for many has been Trump’s inability to keep his mouth shut, his mercurial temper, and his relentless need to boast about things he doesn’t understand.

Republicans have responded by saying Trump would be more presidential now that he’s the nominee. Surely, he wouldn’t, say, leak any classified information he receives as part of his new access to information. Surely!

But now there’s this. At a rally in Colorado Springs, Trump was deep into a rant about making countries pay the United States for protection when he suggested we shouldn’t have to keep paying “rent” for the military base we keep in Saudi Arabia.

The last American base in Saudi Arabia was supposed to have closed down shortly after 9/11. After unrest during the invasion of Iraq, then Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld officially closed the last remaining U.S. military base in Saudi Arabia and gave it back to the Saudi government. If America does still have a base in Saudi Arabia it was a site not meant to be made public. The consequences of having that exposed could quite have massive consequences for America’s role in the Middle East.

There are two possibilities here: Either Donald Trump is so woefully out of touch with American foreign policy that he thinks a base that closed down 13 years ago is still open – or he just leaked a staggering nugget of classified information. Should it come to light that there is indeed a secret base in Saudi Arabia, you can forget about homebrew servers – Trump just committed a massive crime.

Trump is a helpless pawn in the iron grip of Moscow.

If he refuses to betray America, Vlad will leak the files.

Trump for prison.

I'm wondering if he was(assuming command) barking orders upon hearing the news?? I can't visualize him sitting w/out his lips flapping & his nose crinkled in a sneer...

actually there are other possibilities, including that he wasn't referring to any bases that were mentioned in a security briefing at all......there is also the very real possibility that we have been paying the Saudis "rent" for the base we closed 13 years ago......keep in mind, its the federal government we are talking about here.....

Lots of chirping crickets from people who were so concerned about what secrets Hillary could have let slip.
I thought the ones who were concerned about what Hillary might have let slip were the ones panicking because the Russians might be looking for her birthday email to Chelsea.......
