what is #DemExit?

Bernie Sanders was elected as an Independent, who has caucused with Democrats. In spite of throwing his support to Hillary, he plans to return to the Senate as an Independent. It is a non-story that Sander die-hards and conservatives want to use to declare Hillary's presidential run all but over.

hmm it doesnt seem to have much to do with sanders. Im seeing it from his supporters more than anything. No one seems to care that he is back to independent.

right. sanders is trying to reform the party from the inside -he is afterall a politician.
He supports Hillary as a matter of Democratic politics (this independent thing is way overblown)

The #Demexits are the people who have had enough. who look at Hillary as corrupt/plutocratic -all the things sanders said about her personally

^ those were a few pussies that actually stayed to watch Clinton. The #DemExit delegates were long gone,
many joining the protestor outside

Sounds a LOT like NeverTrump, but much, much smaller.

Perhaps, but it seems the DNC has been pretty hostile to the forces of Bernmaster Sandy. I only have to deal with Trumptards such as tsuke and PMP, and a few ignorant pundits like Hannity. I don't have Priebus and Ryan spewing crap about me, because, ultimately, they know I'm correct.

I don't think it's any more intense than what existed between Hillary & Obama supporters in '08.

You know, I have to disagree. I knew Dems across campus who claimed they would never vote Hillary if she was nominated. Beyond that, there was no outsider movement to shake things up. Most supporters of Hillary and Obama were mainline partisans, even if they personally disliked the other side. Bernie supporters hate Hillary far more than Obama supporters did.

I don't want to discount your opinion, and it's subjective anyway. My recollection is of a pretty vitriolic divide at that time. But I'd agree that it's a different set of dynamics at play, and that a lot of the Bernie supporters aren't really party-aligned yet (as opposed to the Hillary supporters, who were generally older Dems and came back into the fold by election day).

It also doesn't help that some writers from Salon and Huffpo don't seem to have much recollection of anti-Hillary sentiments and rhetoric from 2008, and have written pieces about the recent rise of her unfavorable numbers. This has possibly distorted my memory somewhat.

Actually it was the PUMA's who were a threat in 08, and they weren't anti-Hillary, they were anti-Obama. But Onceler is right, they were life-long Dems, who acted out (ridiculously) but were back in the fold by November. In no small part due to Hillary by the way, who was fantastic about bringing them home and behind Obama.

The bernie dead ender is a different creature, some of them are young, but quite a few more than they want to let on to you are old. Old old old. The old 60's left. Miserable bastards believe me. And they don't vote Dem. They didn't vote dem in 1996, they didn't vote dem in 2000, they didn't vote dem in 2004, they didn't vote dem in 2008, or 2012. They are white white white. And they become less important each four years that go by. Can you guess why? I think you can.

This could very well be a huge problem for Hillary.
Not only with Sander supporters who have the right to some very righteous indignation over the E-Mails that showed the Democrat upper echelon basically screwing Sanders; but also by liberals who are fed up with what boils down to nothing more then "political sabotage".
