I think you are projecting, at least on interventionism,,
do you actually follow his campaign? a Big Thing is what I call "transactional foreign policy".

He looks at everything as a business type transaction -that's the reason for getting NATO to "pay more"
and not covering Japan with a nuclear umbrella. (although there are valuable intangibles)

What has the Clintonian interventionism gotten us? no benefits -nothing on the plus side of the transaction
just failed states and more terrorism.
It's a facile idea,but that's what he's been saying
So why would he look towards interventionism as something that would be a payoff?

NATO should have ended w/ the cold war... But it carries on as mercenaries & provider of the MIC.........

I think Russian expansionism under Putin ( new tsarism?) is more then enough reason for NATO to continue.

to answer your question on running the world like a business -like any ideology it's flawed.
There is no one size fits all for anything - foreign or domestic.

I'm a big fan of realpolitik which surpasses interventionism / exceptionalism / "transactional" . any of that .

Putin created a reason for NATO, not vise versa......lol

NATO never stopped, it expanded EAST, EVEN AFTER STATING THEY WOULD NOT- remember Yeltsin?? He wasn't putin but you still had the expansion-now right to their boarder rattling sabers...........

There is & will always be some MIC excuse & they are the biggest but IMHO red china is right around the corner.........

agreed. NATO expansionism is horrid. and if I were Putin i'd be doing much the same because I can get away with it
and because nobody should have troops on their border like NATO inflicts -we agree about that.
