Obama said today, 'the world has never been safer'

Obama said the world was safer....you agreed....you're both full of shit and I've proven it.....

and changing the subject won't help you .......

No, you haven't. The # of attacks has been trending down for decades.

The only reason people think it's worse is because of the internet & 24x7 news media. Again - for any mathematicians - let's figure out the %'s in terms of the risk of being killed by a terrorist.

There are a ton of links with stats & percentages if you search it. But here is the 1st thing that comes up:

"The chances of being killed in a terrorist attack are about 1 in 20 million. A person is as likely to be killed by his or her own furniture, and more likely to die in a car accident, drown in a bathtub, or in a building fire than from a terrorist attack."

And somehow, it's not hysteria?

2015

During this time period, there were 2866 Islamic attacks in 53 countries, in which 27627 people were killed and 26150 injured.
US police killed....130

2016 so far

During this time period, there were 1303 Islamic attacks in 50 countries, in which 11945 people were killed and 14446 injured.
So far this year 68

Is the word 'delusional' adequate to describe Obama's mental state......

With a 50+% approval rating, its safe to say his supporters are as delusional as he is.....

So what should be done about it?? A Crusade?? Get the atheists, Hindus, Buddhist, Jews, Christians etc etc oh, & maybe the Shia all to help us out??

What I want to know is what we're going to do about death by furniture. No one is even talking about it.

I was just about to start a safety thread.

"Law & order" was the big theme at the convention this week. Making America "safer."

Violent crime in America has gone steadily down since the Reagan years. Between 2009 & today, it has declined by 15%.

The hysteria is entirely fabricated.

Yep......

A large minority of Americans outside the South, even those who considered themselves moderate on race issues, began to wonder if perhaps the country needed a "law and order" leader like George Wallace. In contrast to Republican Richard Nixon’s slick, carefully-orchestrated campaign, George Wallace’s blunt outspokenness on the stump was appealing to many.

Does the trumpf ever do anything original??

Ripped off his slogan from Reagan, his wife's speech was ripped off from Obama's wife~all rehashed reruns being sold as genius & marketing.........

Is it ok the next time some terrorist thug shoots up some innocent people I just get incensed and not hysterical?

Hey dickhead, the quote in the thread say WORLD not U.S. only.

That's all you got out of that link?

It's hysteria, and demagogues like Trump making us believe that statistically near-impossible events are lurking around the corner for all of us.

You mean like the global warming hoax hysteria Democrats used claiming all sorts of things would occur by now that never did?

Many of the chart/graphs stopped showing data at 2000 or the latest 2010.

The gullibility of left wingers is truly astounding.....they believe what they're told to believe rather than their own eyes and ears......

from global warming caused by man, to Bill and Hillary's numerous scandals over almost 40 years, to the danger and growth of Islamic terrorism, etc. etc.....

No danger lurking around the corner....why worry about a Boston marathon, an office party, going to work at the WTC, or dancing at a nightclub....
or eating at a McDonalds, or going to the Mall, or taking a plane trip, or a cruise, no danger in any of these places....my liberal handlers told me so....

Thingy talks about hysteria related to terrorism and world safety. What about all the global warming hoax hysteria where claims were made about terrible things that were going to have already happened by now?

9/11? The attack that happened under Bush, after he was warned?

I'm talking about # of attacks.

We're safer today. Sorry that bothers you.

As long as the number of attacks is down, that more people are killed doesn't bother you?

You mean the attack that could not have been planned in 8 months but planning that started when Clinton was more interested in having his "cigar" smoked than dealing with such problems?

Who said it didn't bother me?

And what are you guys even trying to argue? Did you forget that this entire conversation started w/ Republicans saying we're less safe today?

Are you trying to argue that we were even less safe under Bush, because of 9/11?

Strangely Thing is not tired of having a discussion in this thread. Even he kind of says the same stuff he was saying yesterday. And is having a hard time understanding what the other person is trying to say.

Far fewer attacks.

We're safer.

Again, sorry to interrupt your irrational hysteria.

FAR more deaths, as individuals.

Which is better. Several smaller victim count attacks like France has seen with a lower total number of deaths or one major attack like 9/11 with 3000 deaths? Based on how you look at it, the latter since it's only one attack despite MORE people being killed.

Well, we agree - we were less safe under Bush, for sure.

According to the way that dumbass thinks, 10,000 people killed in one terrorist attack would be better than 1000 killed in a dozen attacks because the former is less attacks.

It's the same mentality they use when it comes to unemployment and social programs. They claim unemployment is down yet food stamp use is 10 million or more higher than when Bush had the same level of unemployment. One has gone as far as trying to defend the higher food stamp use by saying the jobs created are low paying jobs. Wouldn't that mean the Obama supporters are just taking credit for a lower unemployment number to claim he's done something yet using jobs they say are crap job to do so?
