Cruz's needless petulance gives permission to his followers to abandon him and unify behind Trump.
Yes they had to sacrifice some media driven conflict -and short term tonight looks bad in the highly choreographed modern convention.
But he convention fades into the campaign, and the party comes out more unified .

You can probably find his speech on youtube. He pretty much used all of trumps talking points then told people to come out on election day instead of staying home and vote their consience. The main fear with teds people was that they would stay home and not that they would vote hillary.

The funny thing with this silly season? Hillary is dead in the water.....only in America could someone like the Donald win an election due to the incompetence of their opponent. Cruz has made the political calculation that Trump will lose this election and is positioning himself as the number one contender to take Hillary on in 2020. No one here knows how that's going to play out. Today Cruz's name is shit in the party. What's his name look like a few months from now if his calculations are correct, Trump goes down in flames and takes a good part of his party with him, and there stands Cruz. The one guy who wouldn't play. The one guy who didn't go along.
