So with the convention looming I decided to start a thread where I could post my own thoughts along with news events that strike me as related.

And obviously I made liberal use of the thread ban feature as I'm not interested in a lot of mansplaining why this isn't sexist or that isn't sexist or even though it looks sexist it can't be sexist because as tom and anatta (the caped duo of rage furbies were on the fly alright!) explained to me today Pakistan's very own Kim Kardashian got murdered by her brother.
 
Let's check in with United Airlines first! What have you got for us United? Well Darla, we got us this pilot, Michael Folk. He's also a lawmaker from West Virgina! So you can imagine the bargain we thought were getting. Now we got problems. Darla you were right when you told us never hire a white republican male with a receding hair line on account of their anger issues. You said they always got em and it starts with the hair!

United Airlines suspended pilot and Republican West Virginia lawmaker Michael Folk from flying pending an investigation after he said Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton should be executed.

This story is amazing, and such an important read.

I find the timing of its release to be absolutely brilliant. This guy sure does know The Donald. On the morning of the convention? This is already inside of donny boy's head working its magic. I wonder if he will outright straight up implode this week. I mean, he already has IMO, but will he it do the extent that even the MSM, desperate for a horse race, can't cover up and distract from?

Everyone who plans on voting should read that article. It's not like the guy is making that stuff up and it doesn't "ring true." That's who Trump is, and we all know it. He is easily the nuttiest person to every run for President (and let's not forget that Pat Robertson is in that group). He doesn't even seem real.

I can't wait for his speech. There is about a 10% chance that he nails it, imo. He's not good at all when he goes off of the teleprompter, and his more natural style only appeals to his base voters. I don't think that he has the kind of speech that's needed this week in him.

He could be the rare candidate that gets no convention bump whatsoever.
 
I am so looking forward to the GOP convention. For the first time in a long time we could see some real drama at a national party convention instead of three days of circle jerk.

Oh I agree. And If this guy gets into his head he might set himself on fire onstage. That doesn't even take into account all of the c list celebrities he is having on stage all foaming at the mouth to call Hillary the c word. They want to do it. Let's see how close they take it.
 
The most interesting story I've heard so far is that the Police Union asked the governor to suspend Open Carry for the Convention.

I hope so, but I am afraid that the Trump campaign has throttled Trump and gotten him under control. I think we are stuck with circle jerk.

No I haven't.

I did hear he is planning a "surprise" visit tonight to join his wife on stage for her big talk. So now I picture 43 minutes of Donald telling us how great Melania thinks he is and how "you know people were saying, when we met, Donald could have all the beautiful woman, why choose one?" and then Melania will speak for 5 minutes to agree that Donald is great. I expect a really heart warming family values type evening. And then we get Chachi and the Duck dude! Oh yeah, we have stocked up on kleenex in this house I can tell you that.

Has any candidate ever seen their poll #'s drop after a convention?

I'm getting more giddy about the week as it progresses. Scott Baio! Crazy. The GOP might just go completely off the rails this week.

Most excited I've ever been about a convention, easily.

You're spending too much time around Tom Jarod! That's not good for you.

She allegedly is fluent in 5 languages. I will say allegedly because anything coming out of the Trump camp, well, the man is a pathological liar. She speaks heavily accented English, so I am not too sure about this 5 languages claim, but it could be true. I really don't know.
