The FOPS Panic

Apparently a domino effect is feared. But let's all pretend a few interviews with post leave voters is the real story.

EU isn't working in its current state:

"Alarm bells - BBC Europe editor, Katya AdlerThe EU worries Brexit could reverse 70 years of European integration.
In all my years watching European politics, I have never seen such a widespread sense of Euroscepticism.
Plenty of Europeans looked on with envy as Britain cast its In/Out vote. Many of the complaints about the EU raised by the Leave campaign resonated with voters across the continent.
Across Europe leading Eurosceptic politicians queued up this morning to crow about the UK referendum result.
But the mood in Brussels is deeply gloomy. The Brexit vote sends screaming alarm bells, warning that the EU in its current form isn't working."

You were talking about a simple majority not being enough, so I pointed out that a president can be elected on a minority of the popular vote. So stop codding me, I am not whitebait!

no I was not. I was talking about a simple majority being a I Universal mandate. It is no such thing.

I also posted an article from HuffPo that said the same thing, Boris is a moron equal to Trump, he only thought of himself and not the nation and the complexities of leaving the EU.

Boris Johnson is far from a moron and very little like Trump ffs. He was the editor of the Spectator for six years, morons needn't apply for that job. He was also Mayor London for eight years as well. He had a classics Oxford education studying Literae Humaniores.

Brussels obviously, as our own political class here, suffered major disconnect from domestic realities in England. Good article.
We're much more manipulated by the 2 party system where the only thing every politician agrees with
is a corporatist agenda. Bernie broke the mold, but going up against entrenched special interests (here)
requires more then a simple referendum. It takes a political revolution -but most Americans are too distracted by right-left politics

You love morons, he may be educated but lacks common sense, in fact any sense but sense of self, like Trump.

The only thing they have in common is that they were both born in New York and have blond hair. His sister Rachel is even cleverer than him.

Wow, another liberal screed of the sky is falling and its whiteys fault. How openly unoriginal.

Yeh fuck them, many people in Europe do not want to part of the Fourth Reich especially France and Holland. They were told many years ago to stop all this ever closer union shit but they wouldn't listen.

He's a buffoon who doesn't know whether to shit or wind his watch in the aftermath.

Just because Farage beats him out as the actual court jester, doesn't make him anything other than what he is. And you can work doubletime and even do overtime for a dime, you won't be able to peddle your bullshit fast enough to cover that up as the week unfolds.

Why does Tom keep posting pictures of Boris Johnson's sister? Aspergers boy has really gone off on an episode.

Why not? She is not only a cracking looking woman, she is fiercely intelligent and a wonderful writer. In short she is everything that you are not!

There are many in the Tory party that want to stop him, maybe Theresa May, Michael Gove, Andrea Leadsom or Sajid Javid will be contenders?

with Brexit the universal mandate boils down to the points Grind listed as functions of self determination.

I used it as a term for universal aspiration;
an innate human construct of representative government answerable to the people involved instead of the remote rule.

so the liberal argument against brexit is that

- It would cause widespread unemployment and chaos (stockmarket stability) and that it would lead to uprisings or war (ww3)
- Status quo is economically beneficial and leave would have a profound economic impact because the common market and integration is the foundation of the economy.
-Globalization is the right thing to do whether you personally want it or not.

It sounds very familiar to the arguments used by the south to support slavery.

http://www.ushistory.org/us/27f.asp

let me quote one specific part

"When a society forms around any institution, as the South did around slavery, it will formulate a set of arguments to support it. The Southerners held ever firmer to their arguments as the political tensions in the country drew us ever closer to the Civil War."

sounds like liberals and globalization D:
