If you study the court and Thomas's role it has generally been over the years to give Scalia two votes. He rarely wrote opinions and when he did they basically said... what ever Scalia said.

I suspect he finds it unpleasant to be there without his best buddy.

I hope Thomas retires.

Our hopes were dashed. His wife went on Facebook to say the story was false.

From 1994 to 2004, on average, Thomas was the third most frequent dissenter on the court, behind Stevens and Scalia. Four other justices dissented as frequently in 2007. Three other justices dissented as frequently in 2006. One other justice dissented as frequently in 2005.
