The fatal attack on Jo Cox, a member of the British Parliament, reverberated in the United States on Thursday, with current and former officials expressing dismay at the act of political violence.

Former Rep. Gabby Giffords, who suffered a gunshot wound to the head in a 2011 assassination attempt, on Thursday said she was “sickened” to receive news of Cox's murder.

“Absolutely sickened to hear of the assassination of Jo Cox. She was young, courageous, and hardworking. A rising star, mother, and wife,” she tweeted.

"The assassination of MP Jo Cox at the hands of a man driven by hatred is a manifestation of a coarseness in our politics and hatred toward the other that we must not tolerate," she said in a statement.

He is. Witnesses say he was laying in wait for her and shouted "Britain First" as he assassinated the poor woman.

I predict that hoplosexuals will use this tragedy in a sorry attempt to prove than gun laws don't ever work.

They are already frantically trying to attribute this assassination to a supposed chance encounter, claiming that she was trying to break up a fight and had no security. You know, what they always do - blame the woman victim.

But the facts are against them.

Tom shot her (in the back), stabbed her, shot her in the face, and then pulled her hair and kicked her while she lay dying in the street.

He stabbed a 77-year old man who tried to help.

The hoplosexuals will say that everyone should have been armed, or that it was because Britain is a gun-free zone, won't they?
