Bill O'Reilly takes stunning stance on guns after Orlando massacre

The reality is you will not get what you wish.

I hope Trump continues on in the trajectory he is on. He is bringing up important issues but I will not vote for him.

I don't expect to get what I wish. And I hope Trump continues on this trajectory, as well. His poll #'s are going down, and he had the kind of week that alienates everyone but his core supporters.

looking at it from a realpolitik point of view people like trump and o reilly are the only ones who can pass meaningful gun reform.

Same logic as Nixon being the only one able to go to china.

Oreilly is as uniformed about guns as JPP liberals

Challenge for the JPP liberals.

Many on the left keep saying that these are "military weapons". OK name on military unit in the United States that uses a AR15 as its weapon of choice? Can anyone?

I said military style weapons as I knew that somebody would focus on that.

The AR-15 was first built in 1959 by ArmaLite as a small arms rifle for the United States armed forces. Because of financial problems, ArmaLite sold the design to Colt. After some modifications, the redesigned rifle was adopted as the M16 rifle. In 1963, Colt started selling the semi-automatic version of the rifle for civilians designated as the Colt SP1. Although the name AR-15 remains a Colt registered trademark, variants of the firearm are made, modified, and sold under various names by multiple manufacturers.

It's a weapon that is primarily designed for mass killing.

Times are changing. I think the country hit critical mass this past week; people are coming around to the idea that we're idiots to have these weapons available to the general public.

then all they have to consider is how many people are they willing to kill to see it happen?

No they are not.

When people were addressing drunk driving did they try to ban cars?

When trying to deal with heroin addiction do you ban needles?

This will pass

As soon as I read the bolded, I got a crazy fit of yawning.

Do you guys ever get tired of overusing that incredibly bogus example and comparison?

People can have guns. The 2nd amendment guarantees that. People can't have every weapon that we're able to develop, and they shouldn't have weapons that are specifically designed to kill a lot of people, fast.

You literally defined EVERY gun out there.

You only think it is a bogus comparison because you can't address it

How many people on terror watch list have bought guns? Do you know

people SHOULD have weapons that are comparable to the government as per the 2nd Amendment. it's what it was written for.
