It's almost like the GOP misses the gloury days of brawling with the Clintons. The 90s were awesome unto themselves. Add to that the birth of modern talk radio and cable news, and the era is thick with political nostalgia. So, in order to make sure that we get out Second Clintonite War (which got delayed in 2008), we nominated friggin' Douchebag Donald. Of course, she might still get indicted, and prevent this war from ever coming back...

In capitalist states, let's face it, parties have the choice of trying to break the system (in which case the whole of the media will either ignore them or constantly put about outrageous lies - see the current treatment of Mr Corbyn in the UK), strike populist attitudes no-one sane takes seriously, like Trump, or find a 'compromise' candidate they believe the capitalists will allow them. That's the way it goes, if you prefer fuhrers to policies.

There are a very few times when such movements take hold in corporatized American politics. This is one of them.
Instead the establishment rigged the game, and many Democrats fell for the inevitable, or got swept up in identity politics

Of course the press, and establishment and the AP and monied interests squashed it too -but we missed one for the people.

HRC had secured enough PLEDGED delegates to secure the nomination BEFORE the California results came in last night.

incorrect. the AP polled the supers, and some changed their minds, and that is why it was called on Monday.
The primary was over before it bagan, but Bernie's message was so powerful it turned on about 1/2 the party

I considered it over when he lost Ohio. I wanted him to win, but just like most idiots who get caught up in the game rather than just voting their heart, too many people here tried to stop trump. Well, they prevented Trump from getting delegates from Ohio, but they also caused Bernie to lose Ohio in a very deciding fashion. How'd that work out? So yeah, Bernie had a lot of dumbass supporters, too!

Yeah, that was not unexpected. I am not a fan of Kamala Harris. Loretta Sanchez has said some unconventional things at times so it's possible I could vote for her as a lesser of two evils. Have to wait and see on that one.
As an aside there were like 25 people on the ballot for this seat. One was this crazy girl who was in my high school class. She calls herself President Christina Grappo. I have no idea how she qualified to get on the list but google her real quick. I remember her being a weird bird and she hasn't changed.

It's funny, so not only will our Senate race be between two Democrats our 2018 Governor's race to replace Jerry Brown will be between two Democrats as well. Republicans may not even have a candidate to run. Gavin Newsome is the current favorite but there are other well funded Democrats who will run as well. I see the fundraising letter Newsome sends out saying Republicans are attacking me, send me money to prevent them from winning the Governorship. I keep thinking are Democratic donors that dumb to not know his competition will come from fellow Dems and not a Republican?
