Unexpected rise in violent crime in cities

hard to explain why murders were up even before Ferguson, isn't it?.....

How many people do we have illegally in the U.S. today compared to say 1990? If illegals are the reason for the recent murder spike it makes no sense our murder total has dropped like it has over the past 25 years as the number of illegals has increased.

it does if the Mexican cartels are importing the drug wars from Mexico.......

did you think gangs of young blacks and Latinos were killing each other because there wasn't anything good on TV tonight?......

Did the Mexican cartel go underground for 20 years and that's why violence dropped and they just reappeared in certain cities over the last two years hence the increase?

fine.....pretend it isn't relevant......who gives a fuck about dead thugs in Chicago........

I'm simply asking the question to understand the numbers.

I don't know enough about day to day policing to know if the Ferguson effect is real or not but clearly it's being talked and written about in both liberal and conservative circles. You haven't responded if you think that's real or not.

I don't think it benefits any of us to have violent crime rates in this country increase (well maybe funeral home directors and a few others) so it is an important issue even if it doesn't hit our neighborhoods directly.
