fuck anyone who pretends there's an actual statistic for "jobs saved"........I decided every five minutes to fire my secretary and then changed my mind immediately after......I thus saved 105,120 jobs a year and I did it without spending a nickle of tax payer money......

LOL - just say that you don't have any stats to counter mine.

It's based on reporting to the CBO that was required for any entity that received stimulus money. Sorry that it upsets your knee-jerk political agenda, but that money actually did save jobs. Loads of them. And the people who kept those jobs are pretty happy about it.

Aw...poor thing doesn't even know why the stimulus was passed.

Did you think the stimulus was supposed to create all permanent jobs? It was supposed to get people working again, so the freefall we were in could turn, and the private sector could take over.

No wonder you think it "failed." You have no understanding of what it was intended to do, and what it accomplished. You're just some rightie hack reading talking points.

the true wonder is why anyone would think it didn't......didn't it take Obama six years to get unemployment down to the the level he promised his stimulus would keep it from ever reaching......

its like saying pouring gasoline on a fire until there is nothing left to burn should get credit for putting out the fire.......

Not sure why you post here. You don't know shit about economics, foreign policy or politics in general. Honestly, someone with your level of info shouldn't vote.
 
The basis of the "saved jobs" was Porkulus money to the states to pay for keeping union teachers around. So their layoffs were postponed for 2 years after which the saved job ceased to be saved and they went and applied at Walmart.
Turns out with declining school populations and pointless hiring there were far more teachers than were needed. So as budgetary pressures of declining revenue due to a lack of recovery made timing the deadwood no longer optional, the pendulum swung back.
So layoffs postponed is more accurate than saved.

Whatever you want to call it. A lot of the jobs created were also going to be temporary, pretty much by design. It wasn't a career bill.

That was the idea. It's no wonder you guys opposed that measure - you didn't understand it. And still don't.
