Hillary's smart strategy

I dont like hypocrites. I don't care if people have their sides. I don't like people pretending to be middle of the road when they are not. You pretend to objectively analyze things and you call things genius when it is really basic level stuff. Wow she gave a speech. Amazing. Maybe I am just not as easily as impressed as you? I have no problem people objectively talking about strategy, but when you ignore clintons criminal behavior involving top secret information but then turn around and have a fainting spell over trump doing something not illegal, I call bullshit on your objective analysis credentials.

trump is not on the defensive. He's barely a few points behind in NJ and he's leading oregon from the latest polls. Will it hold? I don't know, but he is in a very dominant position right now by every standard measure. Clinton giving a speech isn't going to change the playing field. If trump gives a speech will that mean clinton is on the defensive? Will everytime a candidate give a speech does that mean they automatically won something? It's ridiculously amateur hour with you when you talk of this stuff.

You call me dumb, but time & time again, we've seen the most simple strategies work in politics. "It's the economy, stupid," "It's morning in America," Bush having everyone who pays taxes raise their hand, and saying "you get a tax cut!" (and I swear, that was half his campaign). It doesn't impress you, but it should. Its simplicity is genius.

Oh, and I just watched about 3 hours of all kinds of political commentators on CNN, Fox & MSNBC...guess what? Pretty much 90% of them said it was a game-changer, and many called it Hillary's best moment so far. The word "genius" was used a few times. At the very least, your contention that no one is talking about it today was completely debunked, but even more than that, quite a few who do this shit full time agree with me. Sorry 'bout that. Keep acting superior and like you know more.

Also, dumbo, if you look at polls, it is the ONE AREA that separates Clinton & Trump - temperament.

It's her best strategy, and it will probably work.

It seems to me that every time Hillary attacks his temperament, with regard to national security, he hits her back with Iraq. That's got to hurt amongst the antiwar crowd.

Does the anti-war crowd actually care? I mean they may not like her vote but does it go beyond that?

I wouldn't say temperament is a strategy. I think temperament is who people are, unless they are pathological sociopaths. :tongout:

The bolded is interesting. Most of my posts on this board have been very critical of Hillary. I've started at least 3 threads about what a terrible choice we have this election, and talk a lot about her dishonesty, her lack of core principles & just generally how uninspiring she is.

This is the 1st thread that I've started about her that really gives her any credit, and it's a pretty negative thing I'm giving her credit for. She decided to take the low road, but I believe & have always thought that the Clintons are very effective campaigners, and especially when it comes to finding a message, defining an opponent and staying focused on that. I knew when I started the thread that some knee-jerk righties would be all "you loves Hillary! I just know'd it!", but it's really just cynical recognition of what she does best.

all based on right wing lies

I have to give her credit. She really doesn't have anything in the way of new ideas or any transformative philosophy, and I think she understands the weaknesses of her candidacy.

Give the Clintons this: they know how to run a national campaign. They saw what happened to Trump's GOP rivals - too late to take Trump seriously, and much too late to take the fight to him. All of them tried, but only after Trump had defined them and their candidacy was finished.

Her speech yesterday was pretty genius. There was some talk about a debate going on in the Clinton camp about whether to take the high road & just talk policy, or to really take the fight to Trump. The latter won. She took over the news cycle, and you could see what the theme is going to be for the next few months. You can almost see the sign in their war room: "It's the temperament, stupid."

And they got exactly the reaction from Trump that I think they wanted. He just can't help himself when someone goes after him like that, and they clearly know that.

always trashing her

you trashed her asshole

we fought about your trashing her remember

post 12

end this stupid game of lies asshole

"Being very critical" isn't "trashing" her.

All you are saying is that you support any lefty 100%, no matter what their flaws & faults. That you turn a blind eye to issues as grave & damaging as the decision to invade Iraq. That you are a hack of epic proportions.

And it hurts progressive causes. People who as intolerant as you alienate the rest of the country. You don't "shame" people - you just show them what a narrow-minded fool looks like, and most want to avoid that happening to them.
