Hillary's smart strategy

I have to give her credit. She really doesn't have anything in the way of new ideas or any transformative philosophy, and I think she understands the weaknesses of her candidacy.

Give the Clintons this: they know how to run a national campaign. They saw what happened to Trump's GOP rivals - too late to take Trump seriously, and much too late to take the fight to him. All of them tried, but only after Trump had defined them and their candidacy was finished.

Her speech yesterday was pretty genius. There was some talk about a debate going on in the Clinton camp about whether to take the high road & just talk policy, or to really take the fight to Trump. The latter won. She took over the news cycle, and you could see what the theme is going to be for the next few months. You can almost see the sign in their war room: "It's the temperament, stupid."

And they got exactly the reaction from Trump that I think they wanted. He just can't help himself when someone goes after him like that, and they clearly know that.

she tweeted Trump would be president :)

Trump has been crushed by his own words.
He has no come back beyond red-faced name calling.
This is just a harbinger of speeches to come.

Hitting the reset button again already ?
She did this a few weeks ago and it blew up in her face. She reset to policy and he moved past her in the polls so reset again to pitbull.
Perhaps she should have concentrated on putting Sanders away instead of letting him steam past her.

Is anyone surprised Thing one is going to bat for Hillary the fear monger?

How am I "going to bat" for Hillary?

It's a shrewd campaign strategy, and for this news cycle, it worked. Man, you have a hard time w/ basic concepts. Recognizing that is just reality; it doesn't mean I'm all on board w/ Hillary.

He does seem to constantly downplay her lies and rhetoric. But like I said, I'll take his word for it.

The bolded is interesting. Most of my posts on this board have been very critical of Hillary. I've started at least 3 threads about what a terrible choice we have this election, and talk a lot about her dishonesty, her lack of core principles & just generally how uninspiring she is.

This is the 1st thread that I've started about her that really gives her any credit, and it's a pretty negative thing I'm giving her credit for. She decided to take the low road, but I believe & have always thought that the Clintons are very effective campaigners, and especially when it comes to finding a message, defining an opponent and staying focused on that. I knew when I started the thread that some knee-jerk righties would be all "you loves Hillary! I just know'd it!", but it's really just cynical recognition of what she does best.

It is always less with her. Yeah she does it, but it is not who she is. She does it less than Trump, so not really that important. And you think her nuke comment, while unacceptable, is not really as bad as anything Trump says.

IMO, it is just as bad, if not worse because saying your opponent would start a nuclear war is as high as you can ratchet it. Well, maybe saying they would start a holocaust would be worse or just as bad.

She does lie less than Trump. Sorry - I'm not going to lie about that to appease some warped sense of fairness for you.

And read what I wrote about your strawman on nuke fearmongering. I was talking about pitting groups against one another. Once again, that broad distinction is too nuanced for you.

Fine, she lies less than Trump, so she is not a liar. She is exhibits phony political stuff, but not as much as Trump, so she isn't a phony politician.

They are both liars and phony politicians. Hillary doesn't give a shit about anything or anyone but herself, same with Trump. But I am sure you will once again argue degrees and you may have a point, but they way you constantly downplay her words and actions is bizarre.

I have said both that she's a liar & phony.

Trump's worse. Sorry.

I don't want either as President, so there's that.

And it's BS that I "constantly" downplay her words. I just don't accept your BS strawmen.

You keep saying strawman, but I haven't made any. Perhaps you could point out a strawman.

You said it is what she does, but not who she is. How is that calling her a liar and a phony?

you are such a fucking dope.

She gives a boilerplate foreign policy speech and calls out her opponent some times.
