trump picks duck dynasty dad for VP

He's made it clear that he plans to select somebody with political connections in DC to bolster his limited experience making political deals. This is just wishful thinking by leftists. Although I have to admit it would be funny and doom his campaign.

His own words, it's the reason very few people watch his TV show now.

Can you give some detailed examples please? I'm sorry but I've read two of his books, i've listened to his words, and I share the same Christian denomination as his family and I haven't seen or heard anything racist. Just because he may have a different point of view than you or others doesn't make him racist, or bigoted, or mean, or intolerant. Also their TV show is still very popular as are the Robertson's themselves and their Duck Commander & Buck Commander brands.

In his own words:

"Our culture has accepted two huge lies. The first is that if you disagree with someone's lifestyle, you must fear or hate them. The second is that to love someone means you must agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You don't have to compromise convictions to be compassionate." Phil Robertson

Phil knocked one deep over left field with that one. The left uses terms like racist and _____phobia to force comformity of thought; basically, you can get labeled a 'racist' [or whatever] for not immediately acquiescing to whatever the current cultural fad is.

I'm just a random internet dude so I can enjoy calling them out on it lol. They're racialist hacks, I call them what they are.

Politicians, even conservatives in most instances, fear the labels because the media will pick it up and run with it. Their careers can be destroyed by it. Trump, either knowingly or unwittingly, tapped into this in his campaign and it's been like magic for him. My guess it's because he's not a career politician and if he bails he's still a billionaire at the end of the day.

I know you don't care for him, but even if he fails he's broken down some barriers.

she can't give you any examples because she's never watched his show......she just assumed he must be racist because he's conservative.....that's how her mind works.......

"I never, with my eyes, saw the mistreatment of any black person," Robertson told GQ writer Drew Margary. "Not once. Where we lived was all farmers. The blacks worked for the farmers. I hoed cotton with them. I’m with the blacks, because we’re white trash. We’re going across the field.... They’re singing and happy. I never heard one of them, one black person, say, ‘I tell you what: These doggone white people’—not a word!... Pre-entitlement, pre-welfare, you say: Were they happy? They were godly; they were happy; no one was singing the blues."- Phil Robertson

The ratings have never recovered since Phil made his remarks about blacks and gays, the show has not yet been renewed for season 10.

Phil states he does not judge, but that is a lie. He constantly gives sermons about gays going to hell, to me, that is judging, so he talks out both sides of his face.

I don't see any racism in those comments in my opinion. He was giving a personal account of his experiences with black people that he was with in his past community and how despite their circumstances in poverty, and his near identical circumstances of being in poverty, they didn't blame others for where they were and they had strong faith.

Many black people do not share your sentiment about Phil's comments.

ratings rarely get higher and higher after nine seasons though and so even if he didn't give his honest opinion about a controversial topic the ratings will only naturally decline over time. If his comments truly hurt the show or were going to hurt A&E then A&E wouldn't have kept the show exactly where it was on the TV lineup and they wouldn't have caved in their suspension of Phil Robertson. The Kardashians can say offensive things every episode of their show and people just brush it off but Phil Robertson makes an honest comment and everybody wants to boycott and condemn. If everybody stopped watching every TV show that ever offended them or made a comment in the show that you disagree with then I don't think most people would ever watch a TV show. In my opinion part of being tolerant is tolerating opinions you don't agree with.

He wasn't talking about all black people he was talking about the ones he lived near and worked with, and if some black people don't share my sentiment or opinion on his comments then that's ok too, but his main point was that the black people he knew and worked along side with in those hard times leaned on God for guidance and happiness and didnt blame white people for where they were in those fields or rely on the government to get them out.
