Clinton didn't use password to protect her PC and had unsecure personal Blackberry

Clinton would only use her personal BlackBerry for emails, staff said

She had no idea how to use desktop computers provided for that purpose
That posed a problem as mobile devices were banned in her suite
A secure room was set up next to the suite for her to use her BlackBerry in
But instead she frequently just sent emails from the corridor outside
She also refused to use a government-provided BlackBerry
And she didn't have a password on her stand-alone PC, staff added

The ongoing investigation into Hillary Clinton's alleged misuse of her family's private email account for official business might lead some to believe that she is pretty tech-savvy. But in recent days a number of reports have emerged that suggest the the former Secretary of State is clueless when it comes to desktop computers. In fact, she's so out of touch with modern technology that she declined to use specially set up secure computers just so she could keep using her personal BlackBerry to send emails, The Daily Caller reported.

PC gone mad: Clinton is technologically illiterate and can't use desktop computers to send emails, one of her staff said in a deposition. She refused to use computers set up for her and didn't use a password, he said

And even when Mills set up a secure room next to the suite to allow Clinton to use her BlackBerry in privacy, it proved a waste of time.
The Secretary was frequently spotted using the hallway instead, with Lukens saying he saw her out there 'maybe a dozen times.'

Staff were further confounded by Clinton's refusal to use a government-supplied BlackBerry rather than her own, privately purchased one.

Emails show that they were still trying to get her to use a government BlackBerry as late as 2011, The Daily Caller said.

But she continued to use her over-the-counter model.
now tell us why this is not gross carelessness, to the point of being unresponsive to known security needs.
Why does she think she can do whatever she pleases without consequences?

No passcode on her phone? Wow lol. Ordinary people use those.

That's a special kind of stupid for the Secretary of State. And the tech illiteracy part is mind boggling. I can see Phil Robertson being tech illiterate. Check that, Robertson grew a million dollar business from scratch out in The Real World while Hillary was doing who knows what in the Beltway.

Amazing.

Supreme arrogance combined with hubris, nuff' said. Anybody else in government or the military would be serving some serious jail time.

I'm younger than Hillary. Most IT stuff I don't have a clue and continue to have problems with my cell phone. My youngest son, however, earns about a half million a year because of his IT knowledge. Strange, ain't it?

I'm IT clueless. Though I do know how to use the technology. If you're much over 30 chances are good you don't know much IT lol. None of this stuff existed when I was in college.

I worked in IT and computer networking for over 30 years. Predictably both my sons have computer science degrees.

Now if she were a republican there would be nothing but derision at her inability to use a desktop computer in 2016. But rest assured the Yurt Patrol will be along to defend her by saying "she doesn't need to know how to use one. She is tooooooo important"

I was born a poor black child in Mississippi and every morning we'd get up and sing the blues.

Yeah, and there's that too.

On Wednesday, the State Department's inspector general issued a long-awaited report sharply criticizing Clinton for violating multiple department rules. She never sought permission for the private email setup, and even if she had, permission would not have been granted, the inspector general's report stated.

At least 22 email messages she exchanged contained information the Central Intelligence Agency regarded as top secret. On two occasions in 2011, hackers tried to access the server, forcing a shutdown

Clinton demonstrated arrogance by holding onto the emails for nearly two years after leaving office and only partially complying when asked to turn them over. She put herself above the accountability and public-information standards that apply to others.

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders said Sunday that American voters, superdelegates and others must “take a hard look” at the recent federal report that found primary rival Hillary Clinton’s email setup while running the State Department broke agency rules.

“It was not a good report for Secretary Clinton. That is something that the American people, Democrats and delegates are going to have to take a hard look at," Sanders told CBS' "Face the Nation," during one of two TV network interviews Sunday.

Edward Snowden has branded as “completely ridiculous” the idea that Hillary Clinton’s personal email server was secure while she was secretary of state.

The National Security Agency whistleblower was speaking in an interview with Al-Jazeera.
In 2014, Clinton accused Snowden of inadvertently helping terrorists. Since then she has toned down such criticism and said the NSA needs to be more transparent.

On Thursday, Snowden was asked what he would say to Clinton now that she is being investigated for sending emails containing classified information while using a private server.

This is a problem,” Snowden said, “because anyone who has the clearances that the secretary of state has, or the director of any top-level agency has, knows how classified information should be handled.”

He added:
“If an ordinary worker at the State Department or the CIA … were sending details about the security of embassies, which is alleged to be in her email, meetings with private government officials, foreign government officials and the statements that were made to them in confidence over unclassified email systems, they would not only lose their jobs and lose their clearance, they would very likely face prosecution for it.”
Asked if Clinton “intentionally endangered US international security by being so careless with her email”, Snowden said it was not his place to say.

He did comment on Clinton’s choice of email server, Platte River Networks.

“When the unclassified systems of the United States government, which has a full-time information security staff, regularly gets hacked, the idea that someone keeping a private server in the renovated bathroom of a server farm in Colorado is more secure is completely ridiculous,” he said.
