GA conservative Bible-belter chastises the sinners in Congress

Another American mullah who wants to push his religious values on everybody. Guess he's not up on that separation of church and state business.

"A House conservative went after dozens of fellow Republicans on Thursday with suggestions that they'd sinned for backing an anti-discrimination proposal against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people. Rep. Rick Allen, a Georgia freshman, launched the GOP's regular policy meeting in the Capitol basement by reading a Bible passage condemning homosexuality and suggesting that supporters of the LGBT provision, which passed the House the night before, were defying Christian tenets, attendees said.

Several Republicans walked out of the room in disgust.

"It was f---ing ridiculous," said one GOP lawmaker, who was in the room and supported the LGBT provision.

A GOP leadership aide offered a similar verdict. Allen's office did not respond to a request for comment Thursday. A spokeswoman for House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) declined to comment."

What do you think the First Amendment actually says about religion and gov....???

Don't add to or take away from the words of the Constitution .... just tell us what it says using the same simple English it does....

I know what the First Amendment says about religion and government. What does Allen mean here? "Rep. It sounds to me like he's saying those supporters have a moral obligation to discriminate against LGBT because the Bible says so.

I predicted that cons would deny that there is a separation of church and state and I was 100% correct.

Poor Blabo.

I know what the First Amendment says about religion and government. .

So what does it say and more important, what does actually mean...???
You don't have to elaborate with your left wing assumptions....just stick to the Constitution.

Then you read the 2nd Amendment and to do the same.....

Blabo thinks there should be no separation of Christian church and state.
Poor Blabo

It's not about should. Based upon the text of the 1st Amendment, Muslims could becomes a majority in Michigan (or wherever), and implement favorable policy toward the mosque. Theoretically, it's the 14th Amendment which prevents favoritism from being implemented, so the "wall of separation" does now mostly exist.

And it sounds to me you're trying to make a strained comparison lol.

Notice that even his own [probably Christian] party members walked out on him. How often does that happen in Muslim countries? I dare say not nearly often enough.

Few liberals will admit it, but sharia is a totally different animal than...there's not even a Christian sharia to compare it to. Which is kind of the point. Christian doctrine readily accommodates the extra-constitutional doctrine of separation of church and state; and a very large percentage of Christians are on board with it---the incident you cited proves it.

Places that have Muslim majorities will have a higher percentage of people who adhere to sharia; hence, the struggle to maintain a secular form of government. Tragically, even when democracy is introduced, they will democratically install sharia.

But liberals don't like to talk about this. They prefer to make Christian fundamentalism a boogie man because it fits their agenda.
