Donald Trump: ‘Trained teachers should be able to have guns in classrooms’?!!

well actually it's the other way around. In the real world, not NRA fantasy land, more people would die due to arming schools than from rare attacks by nut jobs. Besides no one is saying that in specific cases you can't have appropriate security in schools but this idea of making an armed camp out of them is nuts. School isn't the army. Keep your guns at home along with you smart phones and weed.

So you are saying that vetted teachers are just as likely to turn homicidal as angst ridden bullied teanagers with mental illness?

Ohio is weird in that it's so diverse. Columbus is a cross roads city of the Midwest. It's diverse and cosmopolitan. Ten minutes west of where I live is Amish country. 30 minutes south you might as well be in Alabama. Northeast an hour it's the Great Lakes blue collar industrial corridor and due west is the east end of the Midwest farming corn belt region.

Needless to say this confuses the hell out of Texans when they visit our State. They're used to where yo can drive a day and nothing much changes geographically or culturally.

That's not really true about Texans unless they've never left their hometown or drove more than a few hours away. East Texas, Central Texas, the gulf coast, and West Texas all have very different geographies and even the cities and small towns can have different cultures. For example a lot of central to southwest central Texas is very German, southeast Texas is very Cajun and Vietnamese. When it comes to geography East Texas is thick piney woods, central Texas is beautiful hill country, west Texas very desert like and arid, the gulf coast which has Palm trees and feels like you could be in Florida or somewhere like that. Theres rivers and lakes that are brown as mud and warm in some areas of Texas and crystal clear and cold in other areas. There's farmers, ranchers, suburbanites, hippies, businessmen, Christians, Jews, whites, blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and more. Drive across Texas and you'll see more diversity of geography and culture than many states in my opinion.

And those hippies, Jews, blacks, Hispanics, and Asians have GOT TO GO, right, Norah Beth?

Statistics show far more kids would die or be injured from accidental discharges than assailant attacks. Get it?
do you have a citation for that?

Also, having arms in school is simply not conducive to a quality educational background or safety. So what would be the point other than to stroke gun fetish?
are you advocating for the removal of school resource officers in your district?

so the huge outcry in support of assault weapon bans, stricter background checks, et al, are nothing more than anti gunners dancing in the blood of dead kids? thought so.

Basically, yes. They seize upon tragedy in order to push their own agenda. That is politics.

Stricter security measures would go a long way to fixing this problem. It would be expensive though. Just one more reason why we need to grow our economy and make our country rich again. So we can afford things like this.

I know you won't lie to me, Norah Beth. Don't many Texans think that those hippies, Jews, blacks, Hispanics, and Asians have GOT TO GO?

Define many. In my opinion most Texans just don't want people to come in and try and change what makes Texas so great. There are bigots in Texas just like there are in every single other state, but most Texans just want to live how they want.

Parsing, Norah Beth?

She was not parsing.

She simply asked you to define many so she could understand the context of your question. Because if by many you mean a majority then no - she disagrees with you. She believes most Texans simply value their independence and don't want outsiders coming in to their state and changing their lifestyle.

In other words: she answered your question. She has already conceded that there are bigots in Texas, just as there are in every other State across America and the world. Texas is hardly unique in that regard.

I don't find that true in my experience. I think Texas want to live but with restrictions to others lifestyles of which they don't approve.

There are Texans that would like to see them all go for one reason or another but in my opinion it's a small number. Really at the end of the day people want to be around people that are like them, but that doesn't mean they want to force anybody out. And really, hoping or wanting someone to leave is different from doing things to them that would make them leave. I'm ok with someone not wanting to associate with someone else, but just not through fear or force.

Everything's bigger in Texas, Norah Beth.
