‘There’s nobody left’: Evangelicals feel abandoned by GOP after Trump’s ascent

They have never had a real home, the only place the could peddle some influence was at the Republican party, but that was always disingenuous.

The sad truth is that there are some honest true believing evangelicals, but they are also infiltrated with charlatans who are only in it to make money or use the simple beliefs for personal gain. There has always been the perception that evangelicals can be used if you pretend to talk their talk. I see it locally when I listen to Christian radio, the people who advertise themselves as true believers are often, in personal life, anything but, however they know there is money in pretending to be one of them.

So Iistening to the radio some justifies the broad brush ?

I remember when and how the gained control of the GOP and hamstrung Bob Dole. And boy did that upset the national party. But they did it the right way, with time effort and numbers. There was power in carrying that membership card. That petered out over time and they now find that money doesn't suffice.
Oh well...

I wouldn't lose any sleep about it. The evangelicals will do what the Christo-Capitalist tell them to do.

I have to give Dole credit. He never had much truck with evangelicals or supply siders.

Considering many more evangelicals are reputed to have voted for Douchebag Donald than for Lyin' Ted or Little Marco, I don't know what they even have to complain about.

The bloc which has the greatest cause for upset is educated and thinking people, who did not vote for Douchebag Donald. We got screwed, and one of the culprit constituencies is evangelicals.

I thought you said the whole group shouldn't be judged by what a few do? Guess that only applies when others do it.

Actually that's not true. Saw a report a few days back that the big D's support is mainly coming from middle and upper middle class voters and that the average Trump voter was making about $$68,000/year....well above the median house hold income. So your average Trump voter isn't a gap toothed inbred genetic defective ignorant hill rat like ILA.
