Poll shows Trump is AHEAD of Hillary for the first time in presidential race

You know every time I ask someone who passionately opposes Hillary I rarely get nothing substantive from them other than ad hom talking points from right wing sources. Bernie....phlllbbbt he's nothing more than a throw back to the new deal era Democrats. He's hardly a radical. It's just that segments of the nation have drifted so far to the right that he appears to be.

In terms of ability...I see HC as certainly the best qualified and certainly the strongest leader and I think that's where she alienates lots of men. Something about a hard assed female leader that just puts them off their milque toast.

Can I just say Margaret Thatcher?

I doubt it. I think Trump, with his lack of experience in public administration, public policy, foreign policy and lack of political acumen would probably make a lot of mistakes but I also think he'd be smart enough to surround himself with good advisors and would attempt to govern well.

Hilliary is an experience national level politician who is hawkish on foreign policy and a centrist on domestic policy. Her being a strong, authoritative female leader just simply strikes an irrational button in a lot of men. Their dislike for her is mostly a visceral dislike of any woman with those non-traditional characteristics and not rational opposition to her ideas. Hillary simply represent s 4 more years of the status quo.

The only one of the major candidates who we should be genuinely afraid of is Ted Cruz. He's a rigid, inflexible ideologue and those people tend to make bad decisions based on belief and ideology and not reason, logic and facts. Fortunately he's a long shot. :)

Yet those very same men that hate Clinton also admire Margaret Thatcher, so it can't just be about front bottoms now can it!

Can't say that I've that much time for him but I have even less for Clinton, maybe Bernie Saunders would have been better??

  • Rasmussen Reports poll says Trump has support of 41% of US voters
  • Former Secretary of State on the other hand has just 39% in her corner
  • It is the first time the billionaire has lead Hillary since last October
  • Results were revealed just 24 hours ahead of the Indiana primary
  • The contest, with 57 delegates at stake, is a must-win for Ted Cruz
  • Trump told supporters on Monday the Cruz campaign will be 'gone' if The Donald takes home Indiana

A new poll shows Donald Trump is ahead of Hillary Clinton for the first time in the presidential race. According to Rasmussen Reports, the billionaire has the support of 41 percent of the American voters while the former Secretary of State has just 39 percent. The results were revealed as the Republican frontrunner told Daily Mail Online's Political Editor David Martosko that Cruz should quit the race if he loses Tuesday's Indiana primary. Trump also told his supporters that the race was 'over' if his opponent fails to win the decisive vote. The latest survey results have Trump leading Clinton for the first time since last October.

Don't you know that the only polls that matter are the ones that show Hillary ahead of Trump. Duh

I disagree w/ you there. I don't think incompetence is the issue.

We've had Presidents who displayed some of the characteristics of narcissism before, but never a full-blown narcissist like Trump. I honestly don't know what he's capable of. He is incredibly thin-skinned and prone to rash pronouncements & actions.

The irony is just amazing.

They are so much more noisy than upset conservatives... I wish they'd keep to their promise to move. They never do though.
That's because they listen to people like me who tell them..."Stick around! You have front row seats for the clown show! How can you possibly want to miss all this comedy?" :)

You do hit the nail on the head. The fact that Trump is a loose cannon is certainly going to give a rational person pause for concern. Having said that I don't find him even remotely as frightening as the thought of Ted Cruz with real power. Trump getting elected wouldn't blow my mind. I'd find it funny. Ted Cruz being elected would cause my head to explode.

I worry that he won't listen to advisors or pick people with no experience, like Bush did.

.

I agreed with every concern except this one. Cheney went back to the Ford administration, and Rumsfeld and Powell had been around for quite a while. Rice, Wolfowitz, and Bremer all had impeccable credentials, and the later two had worked for Bush Sr. The problem is that Cheney somehow regressed substantially in 25 years, Rumsfeld was incompetent, Powell was isolated and marginalized, and Wolfowitz and Bremer had too much influence over Cheney and Rumsfeld.

You shake in your shoes and wet your pants about what Trump or Cruz might or might not do in your imagination and refuse to recognize the damage

thats already before your very eyes that Obama has already done to the country.....

She then why do so many women dislike/not trust her? All because of right wing b.s.?

You yourself said you would never vote for anyone who supported the Iraq War and now here you are proclaiming there's no substantive reason anyone should not support her.
I know....that's a problem. I just simply can't take Trump seriously and he and Bernie are the only ones who did not support the Iraq war. I'll give Trump credit...he has left no doubt where he has stood on the Iraq war. Same with Bernie. Clinton waffled and followed the political winds before denouncing it. Kasich wasn't in office but did publicly support the Iraq war nor has he denounced it. Cruz is chomping at the bit to get us into another Iraq. I'm in one hell of a quandary as, to be honest, I don't like any of the candidates. I agree with LR there. Not one damn one of them aligns with my values. So I guess I'll end up voting for the least worst compromise.

As for women not liking Hillary...where do you think much of her support comes from? That's just more right wing bs nor did I say there was no substantive reason to not support her. That's putting words in my mouth. I said that much of the dislike men have for her is irrational and I'll stick by that.

Yeah, Cruz would have me looking at Vancouver!

Yeah, I was trying to think who didn't have experience as well.

Her women support comes from older women. Millennial women were supporting Bernie. Go look at her unfavorable ratings. Her numbers are not high with women. Men vote more Republican, women vote more Democratic. Show me Republican male support for Kerry vs. Hillary and if there is a large difference I'll believe it has to do with Hillary being a woman. Otherwise partisan politics trumps gender.

Bet they rally to her if she goes head to head against Trump. How do you answer that?
