Business friendly minimum wage increase.

I went to Disneyworld today ( Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom) . there are younger people there who work the shows and the rides
and they are in uniforms or in some cases costumes in the Florida sun and humidity (try this for 8 hours each day!)..

Granted many were young and this was entry level work, but I'm sure there were people who were out of school and for whatever reason
can't go back to school. They have kids , or just don' t do well in academic endeavors.
What kind of society do we want where working 40 hours a week means you still can't support yourself or your family?

These are not "welfare bums" -they are hard workers,and they have to rely on food stamps just to survive. not thrive -survive

I've proposed a better one, in the past.
Why don't a bunch of liberals pool their money and start a business.
Pay the workers what they want and advertise that this is exactly what they're doing.
Then as they become so successful, just think how many applications they'll have to choose from.
This should mean that they can expand their business or take the "profits" and start another business.

According to their "business model" their business should shoot to the top and in doing so, not only will they be able to meet the needs of their employees; but they should be causing the greedy businesses to fail and leave the market.

So far, no one seems inclined to undertake such an enterprise.

Mine has them, when they see someone that hasn't yet been hired by one of the bleeding heart businesses, helping on an individual level until that person is hired by one of them. It covers both sides, pre and post employment.

Trader Joe's pays its crew members an average minimum hourly wage of $13.29.

The grocery store also provides free dental and vision care to all employees who work more than 15 hours per week.

You'd think everyone looking for a job would be going to Trader Joe's and Costco to apply. Those willing to work do so. Those only wanting a job don't because they actually have to do something to earn it. Too many want a job just don't want to have to earn the higher wage they demand.

Apparently they use that free time trying to find ways for the government to force people to provide them with things they aren't willing to earn themselves.

Quick question is this thread an admission that most attempts at going after this supposed scourge of "income inequality" is UNFRIENDLY to business?

People like Mott don't care about businesses. He's concerned only with someone that has such low skills a monkey could be trained to do the job being paid to the same level as someone with skills that actually contribute to the cause. To him, the person that does the job anyone in the office could do is as monetarily valuable as the skilled workers that can do things no one else can do.
