A woman driving on a Milwaukee highway was fatally shot Tuesday, apparently by a child in the back seat, authorities said.

The shooting on Interstate 41/U.S. 175 southbound happened at around 10:30 a.m., the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

"Initial witness accounts indicate that a child in the back seat of the vehicle got a hold of a gun and discharged the firearm, sending a single bullet into the drivers back," the sheriff's office said in a statement.

The woman, 26, had no pulse when first responders arrived and she was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff's office said.

She may have put the loaded .45-caliber handgun under the edge of the driver's side seat of the pickup truck she was driving, and the weapon apparently slid to the back where the boy was able to grab it and fire it, according to a police report.

If she had another gun she could have defended herself before the little thug could squeeze of a round.

I'll bet the little thug held the gun sideways too. Probably instinctively yelled out "I'll smoke yo bitch azz" as he shot, too.
