Public restrooms in the news

A student at Howard High School of Technology says she was in a stall in the girl’s restroom when a fight broke out that left a 16-year-old girl dead.

Kayla Wilson told Philadelphia TV station WPVI that the victim “was fighting a girl, and then that’s when all these other girls started jumping her and she hit her head on the sink.”

Alexandra Coppadge is a spokeswoman for Mayor Dennis Williams. She says two female suspects are being questioned at the Wilmington police station.

Dozens of businesses in the Asheville area have requested signs that read “All-Gender Restroom,” according to staff at the Campaign for Southern Equality.

A total of 77 businesses have requested the signs from the organization, according to communications director Aaron Sarver.

Sarver said the group started getting requests shortly after HB2, the so-called “bathroom bill,” was signed into law in North Carolina last March.

Part of the bill blocks cities from allowing transgender people to use public restrooms that match the sex with which they identify.

The organization continues to get requests for the signs, according to Ivy Hill, LGBT rights toolkit coordinator.

Hill said the group has gotten requests from California and Texas in addition to North Carolina cities outside Asheville.

Hill said it just got a second shipment of 80 more signs, which are expected to go out in the coming week.

Lol, wut?

I was wondering how a thread about public restrooms got 10 replies and I see they are from the OP starter "Legion Troll", who also happens to have a troll avatar.

At least you're not hiding the fact you're a troll. Good on you Troll.

They don't care what type of privates you currently have, just what type you had at birth.

It has to be a 3-way match, Counselor. They will make sure your birth certificate matches your genitals, and that both match the sign on the restroom door.

Think of the jobs they'll create. :rofl2:

Nope the law makes it clear, what your private parts you have today are of no importance.

Someone born a woman can have a 9 inch cock and a flat harry chest, "she" is legally required to use the woman's room.

Perfect jobs for all those convicted religious leader sex offenders. Most already know the ins and outs around a public bathroom already.
LOL

Will they be issued special genitalia regalia?

They would have to wear some kind of an emblem to show they were the official Penis Patrol Gestapo, wouldn't they?

A coalition of over 200 national, state and local organizations across the U.S. that work with sexual assault and domestic violence survivors are objecting to the justifications given by lawmakers to forbid transgender people from using the bathroom of their choosing.

These organizations asked for “support of full and equal access for the transgender community," according to a statement on Thursday by a coalition under the advocacy group National Task Force to End Sexual and Domestic Violence Against Women.

This outcry from hundreds of organizations comes after North Carolina passed House Bill 2, a law that bans people from using bathrooms that don't match the sex indicated on their birth certificate.

There is currently no explanation of how the law should be enforced, and lawmakers proposing these measures could implement enforcement that is a grave and unconstitutional intrusion into people’s privacy.

Lawmakers in North Carolina who support HB2 say it prevents putting women and children in vulnerable situations in public bathrooms and changing areas if men exploit the law and pose as transgender women so they could sexually assault or engage in inappropriate behavior in these areas. Critics call that reasoning the "bathroom predator myth.”

Over 200 municipalities and 18 states have nondiscrimination laws protecting transgender people’s access to facilities consistent with the gender they live every day. None of those jurisdictions has seen a rise in sexual violence or other public safety issues due to nondiscrimination laws. Assaulting another person in a restroom or changing room remains against the law in every single state.
