However, I have a plan where you and I both get what we want. You say you care about those who don't have coverage. If you care, all you had to do was find as many as you could and pay their premiums. No government action would be a part of it. That's not what you did. You supported more government intrusion and someone else being forced to fund what you claimed was something you cared so much about people that they had to have. That's not compassion. That's a typical bleeding heart taking credit for something that involved them doing nothing. By you doing it with your money and no government, you get what you say you want and so do it by not getting the bill for it. A win-win for both of us.

Can someone tell me the bad side of letting an insurance company sell a customized policy to any customer anywhere in the country? You might get a twofer out of this: 1) Competition, if your customer pool just went from maybe(insert the population of your state here)to over 200 million, don't you think that might be an incentive to make insurance truly affordable? And 2) It would get the damn government out of the healthcare business, thereby shrinking it (at least a little). For you communists who would miss the authoritarianism, you could still maintain some kind of "Ministry of Socialist People's Insurance Directorate" or something, just to keep the evil insurance companies in line, but I think if they are producing a good product at a reasonable price, you probably wouldn't have much of a problem with them. And you can make it mandatory if you want, just yank the money from people's tax returns and fork it over to the insurance company(make the "penalty" equal to the premium they would have to pay anyway)
But it goes deeper than that, doesn't it comrades? You simply hate the idea of anyone making a profit, don't you? Think about it though, you can tax profits, and put those revenues toward Medicaid. Whatever is done with it, we need to drop the fantasy that we will and MUST insure everyone. Not gonna happen.

This is a state matter that impacted where you could do business. Fixing that is not simply making obamascare go away. And while some states over regulate all do provide some surety that when you make a claim they will have money to pay it.
