Fields didn't need to know anything in advance because she's an opportunist. After The Mother of All Grabs, Fields saw an opportunity to accuse CL of assualt; and since CL is closely associated with Trump, the accusation would all but guarntee her the kind of media exposure that could land her a better job.

The bruise apparently didn't outweigh the fact that Fields was doing what she shouldn't have been doing. Otherwise, there would have been legal proceedings. Which shouldn't have been surprising, given the video evidence. The context is what matters and it's what the left was determined to ignore in their lust to portray Trumps entourage as a bunch of right wing misogynists.

It was going to be a fail and you could see it coming.

i was watching msnbc the other day and they brought up a good point. Corey was not a flight risk. They knew where they could pick him up at any time. The police station had all the time in the world to go to the prosecutors office show them the evidence they had and ask whether it would be prosecuted or not. Instead the went and charged corey right away which had significant political impact. It does look like a partisan attack.
