Colorado is continuing its streak of monthly employment growth.

The state added 5,500 nonfarm payroll jobs in March, and the unemployment rate ticked down by 0.1 percentage points to 2.9 percent, according to preliminary labor data released Friday.

The unemployment rate is at its lowest level since February 2001, when a 2.8 percent jobless rate was reported.

Including the March nonfarm payroll numbers, Colorado has notched 53 consecutive months, or about 4 ½ years, of employment gains.

Colorado's nonfarm payroll jobs are up 71,000 positions from this time last year, according to the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment's latest monthly labor estimates. Last year in March, Colorado's unemployment rate was 4 percent.

The monthly reports are based on results from two surveys: a business and public agency survey that measures jobs by work site, and a survey that measures people employed and unemployed by household.

Over the year, construction is up by 10,900 payroll jobs, leisure and hospitality by 24,200, and educational and health services by 11,000 jobs.

Mining and logging, which includes oil and gas activities, is down by 6,800 payroll jobs from March 2015, according to seasonally adjusted data.

So you are genuflecting at obamas feet?

Not sure what specifically he did in Colorado are you?

If you hail Obama for this state then is the converse true? If a state has high unemployment should we blame Obama?

:dunno:

if there were more blacks in Colorado would the unemployment rate be more like Flint's?........they're saying in Flint that Obama didn't do much to help them.......

What's the unemployment rate in your miserable excuse for a state, Pastor?

Oh, my...

The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget said Wednesday the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in March was 4.8 percent, the same as February. The labor force also had a net gain of 26,000 workers -- the ninth consecutive monthly increase.
The March jobless rate was a percentage point below the same month last year and slightly below the national rate for the second straight month.
Officials say Michigan's first-quarter unemployment rate also was 4.8 percent, the lowest since 2001.

...will you hail Obama?
