The jealousy of the poor unwashed masses is amazing. I have no idea how people have so much hatred in their hearts. It's not like the kid is a psychopathic murderer, the whole thing was an accident. Do we really have any evidence he doesn't feel guilty about paralyzing his friend? I always see liberals talk about how prison should be for rehibilitation, until it's a rich white kid, that's when they want to bring on the gang rape.
Kid was a young teenager when this shit happened.
My grandmother was killed by a drunk driver. My dad and his 4 other siblings all said they didn't want to press charges. Obviously that's not their call but given almost every single effected party felt this way, the prosecutor didn't push it. My family are all winners. We don't get angry about things that can't be fixed. We accept reality. We decided that A) it was a horrible mistake the kid would have to live with the rest of his life and B) my extended family had plenty of kids that guys age and everyone knew mistakes can happen and we all imagined what it would be like if the shoe was on the other foot.
We weren't bloodthirsty. We didn't need to take out biblical vengence to make up for some hole in our lives. This is the difference between makers and takers, life winners and life losers. Life losers are always looking to blame someone else, hurt someone else to make themselves feel better.
I hope the kid that killed my grandmother is doing something productive with his life these days.
This whole case is just people being butthurt that they live in trailers and they want someone to lash out on. I hope this kid serves his 2 years and less and is able to go to college and get a good job and hopefully we can have society better off than him being in a hole.
