Maybe someone can help me understand one point when the issue of "racism" is brought up. If someone's actions, remarks, expressions, thoughts (or posts on a web-site) can adversely affect another's life to the point that they feel adversely affected or offended, aren't the "offended or affected" seeding a certain amount of power or superiority (only in the minds of the affected-offended) over the group adversely affected to the "offenders"? In other words, you don't know any of these people on this site personally, but I sense a bit of vulnerability or self imposed inferiority on your part. You know your life matters! You have pride! You know God loves us all the same and sees us all the same so why do the self proclaimed "oppressed" do this to themselves? Why does one group allow or affirm a perceived power supposedly possessed by another group (hmmm- "whites") to dominate so much of your thought and energy? I am only asking anyone who feels that perceived fear of the afore-mentioned "power" to the point that it consumes so much of your person?

I am going by the statement she made in her post several years ago. I'm taking her comments at face value and not trying to argue points not in evidence.

If they weren't drug dealers and she attacked them, they could have had her charged with assault. Where is the police report from the two men saying they were assaulted?

If they were drug dealers I don't see any reason why they deserved decent, fair or equal treatment, or why spitting is considered more racially significant than hosing.

I'm taking the position that a person doesn't attack others out of the blue without having to face consequences for those actions.

I also wonder if this would have gotten more than a second's notice if both of the perps were white.

When the focus is trying to make the number one reason for death of young black males equivalent in the white community when it's not even close that's denying the problem. It would be like denying AIDS most strongly hit the gay community in the '80's. Yes AIDS affects and kills heterosexuals as well but clearly the gay community was most affected.

You guys obviously don't like her posts and that's your prerogative. Maybe you don't think the guys she attacked were really dealers but I'm not willing to make that leap without evidence.

I'm taking her post at face value and believe what she said about the guys. I think drug dealers are despicable, thieving scum of the earth who prey on weak people, cause major problems in society and don't deserve the slightest bit of courtesy or respect no matter their color. Hosing and spitting are far less than they deserved.

RacistX did brag about doing the same thing, to gays I believe, but he never said the people were drug dealers. People like him and CL hate and target blacks for no other reason than skin color.

He delves into policies that while well intentioned he feels have hurt the black community. (I read this book at the same time I read your favorite author Michelle Alexander's book The New Jim Crow).

The second would be go in YouTube and watch clips with Thomas Sowell on what federal welfare and housing policies have done (negatively) to the black community.

I understand for all of us it's not easy listening to people and ideas that differ from our own. But if you feel like challenging yourself and want a different perspective from black people I'd highly recommend it

I think it's a convenient excuse to blame liberals for everything. It keeps people from examining their own contribution to the problems.

It's not an Anne Coulter style book. It's a book about the (negative) affect well intentioned government programs have had on the black community. It gets specific and into details about policy and consequences. That's why I recommend it. Despite the title it's not a book that just says liberals bad, conservatives good.

Now you probably won't agree with all he says but if you are serious about the question you asked of what can be done, this is a well written and argued book that is a worthwhile read.
