A Republican lawmaker is filing an impeachment resolution against Gov. Robert Bentley in the wake of a scandal involving one of the governor's top aides, who has since resigned.

The resolution by Rep. Ed Henry of Hartselle will likely be sent to the House Rules Committee for consideration.

Bentley said he "humbly" asked voters for "forgiveness," reports CBS affiliate WAKA in Montgomery. "I am thankful our governor has reconciled with Our Lord Jesus Christ," Henry said. "But his actions still have consequences."

They alleged adulterer was outed by the former head of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency who said he was fired because he refused to cover up Bentley's alleged affair.

Have you noticed that none of them seem anxious to defend the Governors' Christ-like behavior?

I think lil' Norah is the only one that doesn't bring shame on their creed here on a daily basis.

But she's young, so give her time.

:eek2: Whew! If I were wearing pearls I'd be clutching them now. No, grasping them for dear life! You can never tell by looking at a person, huh.

I hope this all comes out at the impeachment. Nobody will remember Clinton's cigar anymore. :D
