Trump on what kind of Supreme Court justice he would select

If the president is violating law with constitutional implications, they just grew it.

So, in the email issue, what president is violating what law with constitutional implications? Is there a case to bring before the Supreme Court? If there is, what is the Constitutional issue that has been identified and has the S.Ct accepted Cert? Who is the Plaintiff?

I had that thought last night watching Trump with Chris Matthews, not the part about running, but that I know more about our Government and how it is designed and works than Trump. I also know more about the issues, the guy clearly had never thought about the ramifications of making abortion illegal until last night.

Think again. YOU claiming YOU know more about the issues isn't a valid source. You prove regularly you don't have a clue.

There would be no ramifications if abortion was made illegal.

Of course you think you know more. You are a leftist. Leftists are unencumbered by things as mundane as self doubt. They have an internal belief that those ideals they hold dear are morally superior. They believe they and they alone are properly educated and thus imminently qualified to tell the rest of us how to live our lives.

If you thought otherwise you would not be a true leftist.

None? Then why do it?

Do you disagree with Trump's first statement or his press release.

The funny and sad part about him claiming to know more is he uses himself as a source to back up his claim.

Leftists believe that they know what's better for a person than the person him/herself. They'll tell you they do.

You claimed there would be. Name them.

There would be back ally abortions.
There would be more girls dying from the illegal procedure.
There would be no recourse for medical malpractice of the Doctor.
There would be prosecutions of Doctors and maybe nurses.
There would be less research into the safest methods for the woman.
There would be poor women with less access.
Wealthy women would still have the options to travel for abortions.
The Government would do more poking around in women's medical records.

There might be more unwanted children.
There might be more children born into poverty.
There might be more families stuck without an education.

There would be more ramifications, but they are unknown at this time. I am sure there are more I did not think to list.

Everyone here knows more about how gov't works than Trump. Even you.

Sad but it appears to be true, ILA does understand government and the issues better than Trump. Anyone who reads this forum for a couple of weeks seems to.

So, what do you think would be the result of making abortion illegal?

You don't think that those with the means and desire would go to Canada for an abortion?

First of all abortion would never be illegal in this country if Roe v Wade were overturned.

It would immediately return to the individual states where the decision rightly belongs.

Despite my strong pro life leanings, I know more support the federal government particular the courts outlawing abortion than I do them making it legal in 50 states.

If Roe were overturned tomorrow, I suspect the majority of states would still have legal abortion. Some states would make it illegal.

You are merely trying to gin up uninformed fear.

Ok, so if it were illegal in some states and not in others, don't you think those with the means and desire would simply travel for an abortion, while those without the means would seek an illegal abortion or have the baby? Ultimately it would be a law that significantly disproportionally affects the poor, right?

If abortion is murder, why would you not support the Federal Government making it illegal? There is a federal murder statute...

Laws don't affect anyone. Someone is affected when they choose to put themselves in a situation where the law applies to them. A simple solution is don't put yourself in that situation and you don't have to worry about what a piece of paper says. I'd expect someone with the legal knowledge you claim to have to know that. The problem is you're a Liberal and Liberals don't hold the person making the choice accountable, they blame something that doesn't come into play unless the PERSON makes a decision.

A drunk driver killing an innocent person is murder yet there are laws that specifically deal with drunk drivers that kill people.
