Alas, the owners of the Arena or the Management company would never allow it.

It would become an insurance nightmare.
The Republicans will find cover in that it is beyond their control, private business can do what private business wants.

I think he was using Irony regarding some silly arguments I have heard Conservatives make about second amendment violations in private places.

Private Industry understands that open carry, in certain places, does not make people safer, and that if they allowed it they would be held accountable in the Courts.
