I heard about this yesterday. It's honestly hard to believe that people can be so über sensitive to the point that even a basic campaign slogan of a candidates last name written in chalk is considered intimidation, harassment, or anything like that. I'm sure there may be a handful of students at my university that will sympathize with those offended students but I would be willing to bet that 99% of college students would see this as going a little overboard. The fragileness of these students is embarrassing in my opinion. I'm sure a lot of this comes from personal experiences and maybe me being thrown off of horses, having to do a lot of manual labor, and being taught to have strength in myself makes me see this as embarrassing but I do wonder if these students were raised to be that fragile or if this is really who they are and what they believe.

Desh, you have been to shown to be a racist. You can't pretend your actions and attitudes toward blacks (and specifically blacks in Oakland) is not racism. Black people spoke and said what is racist and you didn't believe them. Racism won't be stomped out until racist like you leave. So quite lecturing others and fix yourself.

Trump 2016 written in chalk is not racism. While it could be argued that Trump is racist it does not explain how Trump 2016 is an example of intimidation worthy of counseling. If someone wrote Bernie 2016 five feet away would that be ok? We are talking about free speech tolerance. You do have a right to have racist points of view but you just can't deny someone's civil rights through that racism. I'm not a racist and I'd rather stay home than ever vote for Trump but that's not the issue here. The issue is denying free speech and using fear to justify intolerance towards a stance you don't agree with.

It's not though. What if a group of students were intimidated by a Bernie 2016 blurb written in chalk because they relate it to past atrocities comitted by socialist government or radicals? It's a simple campaign ad that every single candidate uses: Clinton 2016, Cruz 2016, Sanders 2026, Kasich 2016, Trump 2016. Are all of them an example of intimidation or just the one that a person may disagree with?
