The Upcoming Trump - Der Fuhrer Connection.

I wonder who will be the first talking pundit to claim that Trump is an admirer of Hitler? Trump has been accused of everything else from being a woman hater, to being a member of the New York mafia, to being a David Duke loving Klansman, to being an income tax evading cheater, to being an admirer of Benito Mussolini.

The Trump haters are really getting desperate my friends. The GOP establishment is so frustrated watching Trump pile up all these primary victories and tallying up all these delegates, the Trump - fuhrer connection has to be coming shortly.

This just screams out for the Carrey gif:

Cawacko the libo, you're getting your wish but not by the methods you wanted. The republican voter base is expanding according to super Tuesday but it isn't because of your amnesty for the illegals and more muzzies pouring in from the ME.

Cawacko the libo.

I'm the liberal and you're voting for Trump? Sure thing PR.

It's been out for months that Trump has read Hitler and kept speeches of his by his bed. If it gets brought up it won't be the first time.

BTW, how mad are you going to be when you find out all Trump's immigration rhetoric is that just that, rhetoric? Like he told the NY Times it's all about negotiation. He starts off with this hard line rhetoric, which you buy hook line and sinker, and makes a deal from there.

Outside of being a complete demagogue, I don't think Trump is much like Hitler.

However, his rise to popularity is eerily similar, imo. He plays off of the same kind of fear, hatred & xenophobia that Hitler did. Like Hitler, he basically appeals to the worst in people, and knows how to manipulate their fear.

Forgetting Trump for a moment, there may be a reformulation of the GOP happening before our eyes. Trump is attracting the politically unengaged; disaffected republicans, who didn't show up for Mitt and democrat workers. What's troubling for democrats would be if these workers put voting jobs ahead of identity.

Even if Trump disappears tomorrow his coalition will be looking for a voice.

And politics abhors a vacuum.

Another demagogue who will stoke the fears of uneducated whites, lol?

If there are any comparisons it's in what you said, the rise to popularity.

I'm no political historian but the closest I see is Goldwater in '64 where you had some seriously passionate people backing him and obviously he got crushed. Nixon won big in '68 but he was no Goldwater. Ultimately that led to the Reagan revolution in 1980.

The thing with Trump is he hits home with disillusioned blue collar white workers but that's not enough to win a national election. So where does that leave them going forward?

Well, you're not a pundit, but... you just brought it up.

I find that to be objectively (and ironically) funny.

Goldwater lost in a landslide because he ran against a dead man. You republicans need to get over your Goldwater affliction.

If Trump gets shafted and your people manage to get one of your candidates instead while you ignore the results of the primaries, you're looking at three million potential republican voters staying home on election day.

He plays off seven years of republicans doing absolutely nothing to stop Obama and his agenda after republicans were voted into office.
