I am sure he has been desperate for your validation
Your next valued economic post
Will be your first
tell us again about your 401K "shelter"
That is funny stuff
Are capital gains in a 401k taxes?
Same as I have been saying
I'll take the most successful investor ever over a bunch of middle class teabaggers
the problem with the 1% is that they seem to forget that there are three different economies nationwide. that 1% economy might be better than ever, the middle class economy might be lagging or even decreasing, the lower income class can be seen to be improving somewhat. that does not mean the economy is better than ever, except for that 1%
Nice try and inequality will make it worse
Your family lives better than Rockefeller did in the thirties
how well did Rockefeller live in the thirties?
The economy is good.
There are things to work on, but Ill take slow steady 7 years of growth over a quick sugar surge followed by another recession any day of the week.
much of that is to advancements in technology ,medicine, food production in Asia. The point Buffett was making is that trans portion is cheaper, entertainment is cheap and everywhere.
The general standard of living is way better in his lifetime. He says those born today will have it better than ever before.
I agree
much of that is to advancements in technology ,medicine, food production in Asia.
It doesn't take into account enviornmental destruction - the Amazon is become a series of "logger road" /oceans are acidification
or barren coral reef and fisheries. And of course global warming which is a symptom of all man's activities.
I doesn't take into account the USA funding entitlement programs in a $19 trillion debt economy either.
Or energy prices so low people don't really need to budget much money for fuel -pocket change and loose dollars will cover that,,
Drug prices are through the roof.
Things were really fantastic on the Titanic until it hit the iceberg. we are living on borrowed money.
The economy is not that good. But I will say this: pretty much everyone on the right said the stimulus would RUIN the economy, and send us into a long-term depression. It did not.
Considering where this economy was in '09, we ARE in pretty good shape. It's a weak recovery - but the fact that it is a recovery, and that people are hiring, is something to feel positive about. The predictions at the time were much more gloomy.
And we all know Buffet never ever says things just to feather his own nest...
Real gdp < 3% for 10 years. It's not done that poorly. The can has been getting kicked down the road but even Yellan says they have nothing for what's coming.
Military has been cut way back ( sequester), but you can't have unchecked China and Russian expansionism either.Bullshit wars by both parties play a huge part in the debt
I'd love the to cut the shit out of entitlements
After they cut 50 percent from the military
